Television is embroiled in a writers strike, but Letterman, who produces his show has already come to terms with the Writers Guild, and is the only late night host to have done so.

As other late night shows scramble for guests and material, Letterman is able to attract guests who otherwise would not cross a picket line. This Stern appearance should be a ratings bonanza for Letterman, and at the same time offer Sirius as well as Stern some great exposure.
