Sirius XM Launches The Worlds of Mickey Hart
Sirius XM has announced a new special titled, “The Worlds of Mickey Hart”. The show explores the amazing archive of recordings collected by legendary Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart. Throughout the decades Hart, as a musician, songcatcher, preservationist, and cultural advocate has amassed an impressive collection of private recordings. Listeners will be treated to these tunes and the muses of Hart. Each show will include special guests, generous helpings of music from around the globe including The Mickey Hart Collection from Smithsonian Folkways Recordings and illustrate the ways in which Mickey wove those sounds into the tapestry of the Grateful Dead.
The show started Tuesday, December 12th at 5:00 PM on channel 23. If you missed it, no worries! The show will replay on December 14th at 9:00 AM, Friday, December 16the at 1:00 am ET, and Saturday, December 17th at 3:00 pm ET
While I am not a Deadhead, I love the fact that SIRI continues to put out a wide breadth of interesting material. Mick adds to the already cool lineups of Pearl Jam, Springsteen and past classics such as Stones, metallica and ACDC,….
