SkyDock Pre-Orders Available From TSS Radio
TSS has notified us that they expect units to be available for shipment on October 18, 2009. If you want to be certain to get your hands onto a SkyDock, you may want to seriously consider ordering yours now. The Sirius XM SkyDock allows owners of iPod Touch’s and iPhones to virtually turn their device into a satellite radio when docked.
Contact TSS Radio for more information, and get in line. For the record, I am already in line and will be adding the SkyDock to my arsenal of satellite radio devices.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Pioneer Inno came out years ago and does all the stuff this thing does, and can be used in the house and has the full slate of channels in “portable mode”. I fail to see the huge innovation in this thing. I use my Inno in the car, in the house, and out walking around or lounging at the pool. It has mp3 capability on it as well. I’m sure Stiletto and XMP3 users feel the same way.
This is for people like me who can’t wait to become a new subscriber and are too cheap to buy an SIRIUS/XM reciever and who can use their existing i-pod which is collecting dust in the garage.
LOL! Can’t wait to become subscribers. I bet the lines will be exploding at the local Best Buy. 🙂
For me it is an issue of consolidation. I dumped my PDA years ago because I could store all of that info on my cell. I would rather carry fewer devices than more. Why would an iPhone user want to carry around an inno in addition to their phone when they can have it all in one device? I am not being a wise guy here, but this step makes the sat rad portablesvirtually obsolete in my opinion. A smart phone that delives phone, internet, contacts, navigation, music, video, and scores of other functions will be on my hip all of the time. My stilettos stay in their dock.
Also, I allow you to listen to XM music and download the songs into iTunes. Turning the iphone/iTunes into an awsome music discovery device.
Huh? Who has an iphone or ipod touch collecting dust in their garage?? Silly.
Sad to say, this awkward wand of wires and plastic does look like instant garage sale fodder. I’m imagining it the day after Xmas, piled on a table at a yard sale in a plastic tub with some old curling irons and CB radios and videogames and other electronic relics.
What the heck is happening?
The SkyDock is pure garbage and designed for XM only.
That brilliant move alone is reason enough NOT to think about buying one.
If you need more reasons, all you need to do is look at the HORRIBLE track record Sirius has for consumer hardware.
There is no reason to believe that the SkyDock will be anything other than the same old garbage it has produced in the past.
Overpriced, limited usability and limited life, but pure garbage all the same.
It not going to triple the number of subs, but it will make an incremental difference. This and other changes they are making will add up to a lot.
To state otherwise is simply not looking at the facts.
57 cents and dropping.
The writing is on the wall.
54 cents and dropping on the news of management selling off.
debbie downer is at it again. wa wa waaaaaa.
310 million US population, roughly 6% has satrad. I expect SATRAD subscriber population to top out around 25Mil by 2016. Thats if there is no new war and if the U.S economy is slowly improving. Then I think SATRAD will have a fierce competition with nationwide free WIFI.
Can this be used outside of the car, or can it only plug into a cigarette lighter? If it can only be used in the car, I don’t see any extraordinary, far-reaching appeal.
I ORDERED MINE FROM XM 🙂
