maybe u can bring this up on your show- it is not my idea but it is a good one………..i pasted it from yahoo message board…………
Government contracts for emergency services: Currently they don’t have the ability to talk to every police and fire, ambulance, etc., at the same time.
With SIRIUS, they could have a channel that all emergency services, NATION WIDE, could tune to at the same time. Also, state channels for specific states in state specific emergency. This was a big problem during 911, when all the cell phone companies went down.
I was in NYC…………..9/11……and actually spent several days in Ground Zero………..hated the No Comm………crazy beeping sounds of the fallen Hero’s…………………….
I also posted MANY times on Bin Ladins only source of modern communications, pre 9/11, being satellite telecom service (until a few missiles zeroed in LOL).
This is/has/and will, always been/be a little mentioned benefit of SATRAD;
i.e.: who would NOT pay up to have a cell phone that would still work in disaster zones.
And what is it worth to gov’t agencies to have the same deal??
I mean when the whole ‘blackberry shut down’ thing happened way-back-when……….the only service (unconstitutionally) that was going to be allowed to operate was the ‘GOV’T’ Blackberry’s………NOT….!!
Tell O’BAM, today his blackberry is dead, visa-a-vi, Oh let’s say…………..some terrorist nuke or the like…..not Good!! :((…….Offer him an always-on-through-mountain-top-or-nuclear-winter SATRAD set and Yeah!!
Happy Pres….:))……………Happy Investor!!!!
Tyler,
I meant the WSC Coalition although I like the sound of WAC “wack” Coalition. Here’s a link to what I was thinking about. It’s Sirius/XM’s rebuttal presentation to the FCC so to speak after the latest testing for interference from adjacent frequencies by wireless devices. It’s about 45 pages but most of it consists of slides. I was looking for any thoughts on how this may eventually play out but I know it’s too soon to know. Thanks
