I don’t know what to make of this move. Is this a kiss and make-up I’m sorry Mel for trashing Sirius and causing your stock to fall 20% AH on merger night? Or was this all one big act by all? I’ll be watching intently.

Anyone notice that this is a bit strange happening at 1:30pm rather than on the actual show?
The fact is that this is Cramer just trying to market himself and to highlight his show during the trading prime time. (Not that there is anything wrong with that, but let’s just say what it is).
Sirius is by far the stock with the most passionate lovers and haters and it is by far the best company to “use” on the first show, because it will get the most viewers and set the scene for the other mini shows.
My opinion: This is a non event – Cramer will likely be friendly to Sirius, since he doesn’t want to scare off future guests or sour the mood too much (plus he likes Mel). But this will mean nothing. We will head lower, and lag in the crapper until at least after Christmas and the q1 report. Forget the rest of 2008 – just hope the time passes fast.
Can someone tell me if it’s true that Goldman Sachs just downgraded Sirius with a price target of $1?????

I can’t seem to find proof that this is true. It can’t be right? GS can’t keep downgrading Sirius? That would make 3 times in a couple of weeks. First $1.75, then $1.50…and now $1???

Watching the stock nosedive in response to a single analyst is simply incomprehensible. I think Mel should put the company on the auction block, just to help establish a fair market value.
Cramer will say Mel needs to Fire all of XM’s staff and until he see’s the synergies he just can’t support the stock until things improve. It is just too risky.

Cramer already said on Friday that Mel needs to fire all of XM’s staff on a Market Watch interview. Unless Mel and Cramer have already agreed to the format and context, I don’t think Mel would be doing the interview. I agree with BrooklySal. No fireworks and everyone on Q. The question is what will be the spin on Cramer’s Mad Money show, Monday night. It’s all about the ratings with Cramer and that’s why this interview is Mid Day….

This is nothing more than an attempt at PR by Karmazin. He’ll get on and repeat all the pro-Sirius XM talking points, i.e., $400 million synergies, interoperable radios, tiered services, etc..
What you’ll not hear is specifics on how they’ll make a heavily leveraged buy out pay off, and when.
