We decided to take a deeper look into the 72 representatives that signed a letter against the merger. For your convenience, we have listed each representative and any donation they received from the NAB Political Action Committee (PAC) in the 2006 election cycle. The data was provided Open Secrets.

Some statistics jump out rather quickly:

1. The dollar figures add up to $84,000.
2. Of the 72 that signed the letter, 36 (50%) received campaign finances from the NAB.
3. The average donation of those that received money was $2,333
4. The NAB donated to 186 active candidates.
5. Only 36 out of the 186 that the NAB supported signed the letter ( 19.35%)
6. The House is made up of 435 members. Only 72 signed the letter (16.55%). It takes 218 members of the House to have a quorum.
