There are quotes from the bible that lead me to believe that if a person has never been exposed to Jesus's, God has arranged for this person a way to heaven anyway. What they would be, or what path, I dont know. But to openly choose to ignore or turn your back on god, after being exposed to his teachings, his wisdom, and insight is something entirely different. I do have a little insight into how God sees us. From the Old Testament I can gather he views us as his children. Some he loves, some he doesnt. But he will never deny his kingdom to anyone, they simply must choose to be humble before their creator, and follow his demands. Most people cant accept this, and never choose to be humble. If you believe in a creator, you must think he has a plan. He must think he doesnt like being thought of as imaginary. And you must assume his word must find its way to his people, but since he doesnt want robots, it must come from man himself.(and spread by man). He could come down and do a little jig, do a thousand miracles, and have people follow him. Not what he wants, nor does that reveal true followers. Just people submitting like a robot to things they feel they had no choice in choosing. O , on the contrary. God wants us all to have a choice. Thats why Being American and being christian always went hand in hand. Why this country was so great and morally strong. Now look at us.
this country was just as morally inept before as it appears to you now...just didn't have cnn to report it 24/7

If computers existed from around 1500 to now, you would be in that vast minority in your opinions about god. You would be riduculed. Now I am ridiculed. Between now and then what has changed? Nothing. Science? Naaa, keeps getting smaller and smaller. Every time we see a new particle, we see a smaller one. So no answers there. Culture? Shouldnt be living your life based an any culture. Culture that allows murder, would that be ok? Or rape? Are their universal truths? Objective realities? Is rape always wrong? Yes. Is murder always wrong? Yes.( I mean murder of the innocent, to clarify.). These things to be go beyond culture. IN the Arab culture, it was acceptable to remove a womans clitoris. Is that an objective truth? or a subjective truth? Is stealing bad? Sure, every time. Regardless of the ways to the means, stealing is never a good thing. That person has something you need desperately, he should give it to you, you shouldnt have to steal it, but thats neither here nor there.
So I ask you, what has changed peoples minds about god? Other than mans own attempts to turn other men from it.
I know, I know, were too logical a society to believe in god. The greatest thinkers of our history have believed in god. Smarter people than you basically, and me.

some people have a hard time seeing the world as a big mystery and being okay with the mystery. I can deal with it. I prefer to be honest with myself at this point in my life.

No. Purtian society did not tolerate billboards with woman in bikins on them. Or video games where the goal was to shoot and kill everything in sight. Do you really think our entertainment we allow our kids to view isnt harming them? Are we really that naive as a society. You should see some of the youtube videos of "our boys" over there, being wondeful examples of a moral culture. And dont give me the agrument its how they vent. Spartans didnt vent by chearing the dead. The mourned their victims as well as their companions. ALso bury their enemies. Sorry. Much different. If you stole a horse, you were killed. Etc....Now thats morality in action for you. The United States knew the evils of banks, and kept them from controlling our country for hundreds of years. Eventually that broke down. Why? Fewer good men in office, because fewer good men were electing them, or carrying enough past their own lives to care. I disagree wholeheartedly.

What you call honesty, I call being lazy. Your spiritually lazy because you wont explore that mystery with everything in your heart.

and i call you delusional, you ever head of the idea that it is important to consider the questions we ask. you have to ask questions that have answers, otherwise you are wasting time. I am not spiritually lazy, if i was spiritually lazy i would just believe all the crap i have been fed and went along with the crowd. The fact is my exploring it in a true and honest way led to me being humble with what i can know and not know.

But you seem so sure your questions dont have answers. Seems you have a sort of "faith" already. Your confident that your questions of faith cannot be answered, yet you have no proof. That is a sort of faith based system right there, in a way, my good friend.
