    Thanks for the support guys...

We're not likely to ever be major players in stocks. My wife & I decided we wanted to start very small, with money we're totally ready to lose and learn the ropes.

I was going to stick with $50/month on this project for six month and assess where we were after that, but based on my research (including reading this forum's comments) I decided to go a little deeper yesterday into SIRI than we were.

Trading costs are a factor, for sure...On a recommendation from a family member, we're with Ameritrade, paying $9.99 a trade, which seems a little high to me. Also, other online sites have minimum account requirements, which were less appealling to us than Ameritrade, which doesn't...

I'd be interested in learning what on line stock broker websites others would suggest and why...

    Cheers-

www.firstrade.com 6.95 a trade, lots of groovy tools and no minimum except on margin accounts. It trades very fast there. Maybe somebody has a better one. No other fees, or time limits, so it works for me.

I like these forums because it makes my $600 investment seem very epic and LOTR like.

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic... pathetic to the 20th power...he started investing in SIRI.

Next time buy here: www.zecco.com, if you open with $2000 USD, the first 10 trades of every month are free. You do not have to invest the whole $2000. Keep at least 50% cash.
