Do we look at the siri ticker to find these MA's??

Newbie - BIG TIME here!! Thanks for any help!!!
Welcome and thanks - I was speaking of the DOW and the Nasdaq. I don't know if you have a good understanding of charts, but that is where I get a whole bunch of my information, plus a few really good websites.

I don't know how familiar you are with charts, but a great place to check them out at is www.stockcharts.com . You can even learn to read charts on www.stockcharts.com There is a great blog that you can subscribe to that keeps you in good tune. Sign up and he will email it to you everyday and explaing everything. I find him very accurate. It is at http://daytradingstockblog.blogspot.com . Also, www.stockconsultant.com is a really good informational source. Ino.com is another where you can have trends on your stocks sent to you everyday and it is free. Those are a few sources that will keep you busy for a while.

I was just talking about stocks in general, not SIRI in particular. SIRI is just what it is right at the moment....stuck in the mud until debt gets cleared up.

When to sell? If you are looking at the DOW or the Nasdaq and you are seeing a spike above the 9 day ma and penetrating the 50 ma and everything seems like it is going good again, I say really watch out.

I am not trying to be a pessimist, but look back in Aug and Sept 2008. There were three incidences of this type of spike happening on the DOW where it broke through the 50 day ma, and see how long the spike lasted and what happened afterward.

Currently the shorters are finding it hard to find good stocks to short and this could cause a bounce and a spike.

The Nasdaq right now has taken a rocket to the gut and is bleeding, we have lost our support at 1490....and as I write 1490 is now resistance. Same with the DOW.

If you ask about when to sell, then all I can say is if you are all ready down, then hold if at all possible...some day....some year....some lifetime it could come back.

I don't know if I helped or not....

    Have a good one.
