It's pretty awesome if you ask me and seeing the people show up at the airport waiting on the team to arrive late night and sometimes early AM hours is impressive too. I don't know if I would drive 150 miles to go to a game either. You are more of a fan than I am. It's going to be fun watching them work with a younger team and hopefully building the next championship team. I was going to even ask if you wanted to meet up for lunch sometime but being in Laredo, that may not happen. HAHA it's cool because there are several guys I've met in the trading chat room that live here and we meet up for lunch at least once a month or so.
I would take you up on the lunch invite - especially if you're buyin, but I don't live in TX anymore. Spent some time in Dallas back in the day (SMU Grad), and in my limited experience, 150 miles is nuthin' for a real Texan to drive for a good steak and a beer.

Hey user... You make a great point. I don't know if I would consider myself a "native texan." I've lived in San Antonio for 22 years, lived in Dallas for 3 years, and Houston for 2 years. If you had asked me when I first moved here if I would travel 150 miles for a good steak and beer I would have said "HELL YEAH!" Not now... we have so many good restaurants around here we don't need to travel far. If you are talking BBQ, that's a different story. I have several places I would like to go visit that are even further than 150 miles. What year were you a grad of SMU? I have a couple of family members that went to school at SMU but it was a long, long time ago. Great university. Seriously, if you are ever in San Antonio, hit me up on here. I will take you to get some good BBQ on me.

Edit: Denco would be traveling over 300 miles just to see a Spurs Game. It's about 155 miles each way. I don't know if I could do that. HAHA I don't know if they have flights from Laredo to San Antonio.

Thanks for the invite Midas. Usually with family in SA but we do go to the Marriot Hill Country or Westin at least once a year. Next time we're there if I can break away maybe we can play a round of golf and drink a few. I'll shoot you a PM to give you a heads up in advance.

This year our chances are as good or better than any other over the past 5 to get to the finals again. Cavs, OKC, Golden State and many others will probably be stronger this year as well. Going to be an exciting season.

SMU was several lifetimes ago - I'd have to dig out the diploma to see exactly as my memories are a little hazy - as befitting a college experience ......But I do remember Texas BBQ which definitely left a lasting impression!. I will say though, that the skiing in Texas left much to be desired...much better here in the NE for sure!

That would be great! As you know, we have some nice golf courses around here. Speaking of the Marriott, we are heading to the JW Marriott PGA Golf Resort tomorrow for a one night stay. It's less than 5 miles from our house but it has a nice big pool, lazy river, slide for the kids, etc. I've never had the opportunity to play but if you do stop in maybe we can play that course. All sounds good to me!

Hey NJ! I see you are in the forum. Hope you are having a good weekend. It's very hot down here. I snagged some more Novavax for a trade. I hope we do well again!
