    Did you guys see this!!!!?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner formally requested that Congress raise the $12.1 trillion statutory debt limit on Friday, saying that it could be breached as early as mid-October.

"It is critically important that Congress act before the limit is reached so that citizens and investors here and around the world can remain confident that the United States will always meet its obligations," Geithner said in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that was obtained by Reuters.

Funny about John....when I lived in Seattle, I used to tell my Dad when we were watching football that Elway (with his helmet half off his head) looked like a Donkey, but was a great quarterback. I had season tickets for the two years that the Broncos won the superbowl and one additional year before I gave them up. I gave up my season tickets. I had three of them. It was taking a toll on me in the South Stands at Mile High Stadium.

John Elway is a really accessible guy here in Denver. I have seen him around a lot and people just leave him alone, because he is so respected. I haven't ever seen him get mobbed over the years and he is a cool whiskey drinking dude.

Now, as far as Mel. I don't really know that much about him, other than the fact that he never says anything....lol

Yes I did, and I loved the one about Texas! Jeff, feel free to email me anytime. I email people on here and receive emails from them and sometimes combine them depending upon the subject matter where it is relevant. The one about Texas makes so much sense...I would love to do that here in Colorado! With all of my heart!

I was going to reply tonight.

I still have to get one off to Ray before the night is over. I am slow with emails, but I get there.

It never ends, does it....I am so sad for our future generations, that they will never know the greatness of America like we have known it since our childhoods.

Dread/Bill- thats why I have started posting in the politics thread...liberals think that they can push the crap down our throats...We've been the silent majority for too long...As I told dread...I'm really wasn't political until now...most Presidents were actully harmless because the Congress kept them in check...Times have changed...with liberal control of all three...no checks and balance...so we must speak up and speak up loud!

    have a great evening!

So stoked they decided to keep him on as head coach ... No BS and the most terrifying eyeballs in all of football, yeah loooong time 9er fan .. Been to ALL the parades ... In fact, Mike Holmgren was at one time my PE teacher, Oak Grove High School - The Morningwigs (Marty was headcoach in Detroit for awhile) were kick butt in my days, my brother-in-law who also played was next door neighbors and real good friends, we used to just mow over HS teams in those days ...

Wow, came back on here tonight and it was like ... 'Check out all the colors man ...'

Bill, how do you like your Direct TV anyway? I have an appointment to kill Comcast off next weekend and swap over ... they have been sucking the blood out of me for a long time now, curious if I am losing anything in the trade off.

Elway was a monster, I had seats in the third row behind the goal post. They were bitchin' seats. I was so close to Elway doing the end-zone plays that I could see the color in his eyes. What a guy!

He could throw that ball so far and close a game like nobody else. He is a true hero.

I am going to start taking a look at the political thread, as I basically want to not participate in politics in this one. I am a right wing conservative, but these days I am wondering if I want to be an Independent or a Libertarian. I am really having problems with all of this. I want to find some sound ground that can move forward with the original scripture (the Constitution) on America. Enough of that here, in this thread, for me.

Stocks is what this is all about. We went through a time period here talking about politics and it just pissed some people off. The beauty of America is that you can believe what you want to believe and express yourself, but in this thread let's stick to stocks. If anybody wants to email me, feel free, just ask for my email address and I will furnish it. I have nothing to hide.

I love the emails from Dread and I loved yours, Jeff, and also the PM about that topic. I spend many hours a day with politics.

Full disclosure: My wife is an absolute liberal..we don't say much to each other about politics. It takes .05 seconds for a war to ensue.. Last election, I put a McCain (who I don't like) / Palin (who I voted for) sign in my yard before she got home. It got pretty wild and ugly, but I kept my sign there until the election was over. There were a few bumps in the road over that. Let's use the political thread for politics, even though I could make a thousand comments a day about things..I restrain myself for the sake of others.

Those are just my thoughts for the sake of everybody. Last comment...I love the big brother avatar Jim!

***Poof! out of the political arena here!***
