A contractual rights thing...............

I re-listened to the Howard's comments about not being on the iPhone app. "It's a contractual rights thing.." When Artie asked why Apple should make money on Howard, Howard said it wasn't about the money, then SEEMED to concede to Artie that it was the issue.

I know Johnny Irish has posted on this subject, but do we know the positions of the parties involved - Howard, SIRI and Apple? What is specifically at issue?

Hes confirming certain rumors. It was a money thing, and a new Howard contract thing. Delay was similar for the internet offering. Its always about money. When you dont know whats it about, its about money. Whether money Mel thinks he can make vs. not offering Howard, vs. what he wants, or about the money Howard wants to be allowed on the app. We dont know if SiriusXM is protecting their best of SiriusXM package or not. Doesnt make sense, though. If your going to add 2.99 to only get Howard, why not at anther dollar or two and get much more. So its a Howard money thing, for sure.
Besides, no one is going to cancel their best of sirius package, to only be able to get howard through the iphone, and loss all the other channels. In marketing, you dont account for the dumb consumer. If people IN DROVES start doing this, then Im sure they will address it.

Here is what i think problem is,if you are an xm sub with best of and premium,in order to get Howard it will cost $20,now if your a sirius sub with premium it will only cost $16 to get howard..sirius probably only has Mobile rights to howard,hence you need best of to get him..Mel probably didn't want to have 2 Different price quotes out there and is negotiating with howard to resolve it.
It makes people choose one or the other servikce,so Howard or XM content(with MLB soon maybe),when it is suppose to be 1 company

So then I correct my comment. You wouldnt be able to get Howard unlessyou are a best of Sirius sub. as a XM user anyway. So it is just about Howards money then. Not trying to protect best of sirius at all. Nothing to do with that now, we know. Its all about Howard wanting more money. Which is fine, because in a few months they can better tell adding hims impact on the downloads of the apps, and subs gained from it.

If we are to believe that ALL of the current 13940 are "real" then that is roughly 2.6%. I'll take that. Granted, you could turn it around the other way and say that only roughly
.6% thought it worthy of 5 stars. I just tend to think that it is a hell of a lot easier for people to complain than it is to praise. Either way, no way to know what the other 493527 people thought about it until conversion numbers come out.
