Charles, the point was while you may fancy yourself as an editor, you dont have the talent or the skill to be one. I guess just because it is your site you can call yourself whatever you want though.

Charles, The reason you talk to me that way is because I am just about the only one that will tell you like it is.
That is totally bull, anyone that comes at me knows just what to expect. If they are civil with me then I am generally civil to them. That is unless I have to repeat the same arguement 3 or more times just so they can grasp the simplest thing. I also gave you a example in that thread of how that Email could have been stated and would have been meet with the same civil answer.
Well that maybe true (I am not aware of other coversations). I will say this though from Brandons latest response it would seem though you talked to him in the same manor as you do to me and others.
OMG, are you kidding me? While I do write that way with you and some others, you should go and look at your own post to me. You do it also, as stated by me to you in some of those post. I will also add it is you that usually starts it. As to why you may not get them telling you you are a wacked out prick to your face (you know what I mean) on this site, it is because you run this site but believe me I have gotten many messages and emails that say different. The fact is Charles it is human nature to not piss off the person that has the power to toss them from the site. As for me, I dont care, I tell it like it is reguardless. I dont care if it is here or orbitcast or satwaves it really doesn't matter to me. I will say this though, out of all of the sites, this site has the best set up and for that, good job (it still doen't make you an editor though).

Asm610 wonderful thought at the end of your last post, you must be a really good person too.

Newman has an excellent post on the short interest thread for those of us who want to learn about such things and are still trying to figure out why anyone would want to short this stock which has very little downside and unlimited upside.

I have been enraged at the state of this company's marketing efforts over the last two years. Nothing short of a total house cleaning should be on the menu. We need a bunch of young kids in there who can hustle and are up to date on today's technology to generate a buzz for this company.

I also agree that we need to go after the talent now when the economy is in its recession but I think it has to be talent that generates subscribers, that is radio professionals that have a regional following who have been axed from their stations for one reason or another that will work for a lower salary and get a piece of the ad revenues from their shows. In addition I agree we should be a presence at concerts promoting Sirius and its products. I couldn't understand why no one from Sirius ever wanted to promote products when Bubba took his show on the road last year, that's just dumb.

There are other inexpensive ways that Sirius can market itself, for example two years ago my son won the SiriusSatellite Radio Spy Optic Rail Jam at Mt. Snow in Vermont. In addition to his prize money he won a Sportster 4 radio and all the accessories. He has been a subscriber since while Sirius vanished from the snowboard scene which still continues to grow. For example they could have been a sponsor on the Chevy Revolution Tour which is the triple A level of snowboard competition, Chevy paid very little to be the primary sponsor and sirius could have jumped in and sponsored just to give away some radios to the winners at the four events and to give away some swag at the four events which were in Colorado, Maine, California and Oregon. These are major snowboarding events at major resorts over weenends when Sirius could have exposure to people with disposable income.

In addition I am a seven star player in Harrah's total rewards system. If I get one more IPOD give away from Harrah's or Caesars Atlantic City I am going to scream. How about a Stilletto give away, these go to the top players in the Harrah's system, to earn seven stars you must earn 100,000 tier credits with each tier credit being 5 dollars. Obviously these are your better players with disposable incomes who even if they don't want the gift they will find someone who does.

These are just a few of the things that a creative marketing department can do on a budget especially in these tough times. It requires people who are motivated and for those who have read my posts before you alll know where I stand on internet marketing.

Perhaps we should be proactive and once a week we can forward our ideas to Sirius because just from reading the other posts there are some great ideas here and each of us have a vested interest in this company's growth.

Not bad at all.... I hope you have a good weekend with the Wife and Kids....

Relmor is a good student of life and this company, and is a willing teacher of what he has learned...both regarding Sirius Xm and the markets in general. After all, we have all learned a lot through this process, from a variety of people of which you are one. To want to share what we've learned is a good thing.... Going around patting everyone on the back for their input gets to be pretty boring... IMHO

After all, He packaged a good argument, extracted from many discussions, and for that I applaud his efforts... For many people, the packaging of ideas and facts must be presented just right for them to buy in. (or else we might have to repeat ourselves too much) You know this from your discussions with Charles and others... Its not what you say or its relevance but rather how you say it... I guess that is where Diplomacy in Politics is necessary to move ideas and arguments forward, and superior Marketing to distinguish this product from the competition are born out of.

In blogs, I have become a believer that as many times I can see my ideas are being put out by a variety of people (not meant to be egocentric here)the more valid they become. I then can gain confidence that what I am basing my investment decisions on are standing up to the test of open and aggressive debate.... or not. Its helpful to me or else I wouldn't participate here.....

ok SIRI is holding steady so far today... can't wait for that big pop I say later this afternoon. My prediction: we pretty much end up where we are right now by the end of the day...

happy easter and passover

I am convinced, as I've said before, that S-XM is reforming itself. I am sure Liberty demanded this as part of the deal. I doubt it was just about money, shares, seats on the board. It also had to be about management in general and strategic direction. I'm optimistic that we will start to see the results with Q1 announcements and thereafter. Liberty wants S-XM to succeed, not only for the obvious ROI, but also to bury Dish Network. Synergies with DTV will help with that and better compete with cable. It will happen. Patience.

Marketing

The lack of marketing has been the single most frustrating part
of having Sirius stock. There, as was pointed out, are numerous
missed opportunities for marketing this product. Unless people are
aware of what is available there will be little demand for what I consider
an awesome product. Marketing Sirius should be focused on the younger
crowd, where having the latest toy is important. Promotions and giveaways
will intially peak their interest and after that it will start selling itself.
Like the previous poster said, get a younger group to market this,
people who are aware of what others are looking for. If I didn't have
Sirius (which I do, as well as stock) I wouldn't know anything about it.
Only after I purchased my vehicle did I realize how great it is. When
I mention to people about SatRadio, I get a bewildered look in return.
That is unless they too have Sirius, then they are enthusiastic as I am.
Intially the cost is high but as the saying goes, "You have to spend
money to make money" Very true in this case.

underway: I hope and pray that you are right, i just get so frustrated sitting here just watching this company be inert, just not doing anything in the marketing department. Perhaps they thought that Howard would do it for them like he did for free radio but this is a business that caters to people with disposable income across all demographics and baby you have to hustle to please and attract your customers, I would give anything to head the marketing department of this company, and would take a pay cut to do it too.

Cos Happy holiday to you and to your family too.
