    - Total Subscribers of Approximately 19 Million, Up 10% Over 2007
    - Company Achieves Positive Pro Forma Adjusted Income From Operations in Fourth Quarter 2008
    - Liberty Media Investment Completed
    - Investor Conference Call Scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 8:00 AM ET
NEW YORK, March 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SIRIUS XM Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI - News) today announced full year 2008 results, including pro forma full year 2008 revenue of $2.44 billion up 18% over 2007 pro forma revenue of $2.06 billion; total subscribers of more than 19 million up 10% from 2007 subscribers of 17.3 million; and positive pro forma adjusted income from operations in the fourth quarter of 2008.

"In the fourth quarter 2008, the company's first full quarter of combined operations, SIRIUS XM made remarkable financial progress," said Mel Karmazin, CEO of SIRIUS. "For the first time in company history, we reached positive pro forma adjusted income from operations of $32 million, as compared with a loss of $224 million one year ago. Fourth quarter 2008 revenue of $644 million grew 16% over the year ago quarter while total cash operating expenses declined by 22%, a clear demonstration of our focus on improving profitability. Despite challenges in the overall economy and in the auto sector, we look forward to continuing to deliver on the synergies of the merger. We are also very pleased to report that we have closed the second and final phase of the previously announced investment by Liberty Media Corporation. These transactions resolve the uncertainty surrounding the company's and its subsidiaries' debt maturing in 2009."
SIRIUS XM ended the fourth quarter 2008 with 19,003,856 subscribers, up 10% from 17,348,622 subscribers at year end 2007. In the fourth quarter 2008, pro forma average revenue per subscriber (ARPU) grew to $10.60 from $10.42 in 2007. The monthly self-pay customer churn rate was 1.8% in the fourth quarter 2008, as compared with 1.7% in the fourth quarter 2007.

Well, you can see what's going on here. We have a war going on between the miss (negative) and the spin (positive). I think MM's are also trying to suck in new money. I will say this. This very much reminds me of Q3. SP held up in AH because of spin (up 16% this, better than all competitors that. Churn was just a hair worse but basically in line, etc...)...We'll just have to wait and see what wins the day tomorrow. As I said a little earlier...misses can be overlooked on technicalities if there is enough positive sentiment..and people want to buy in here at this level. Seen it all too many times. So we'll just see. I left 50% in to cover that very potentiality. I'll still make a nice chunk of change if we take off..

I think Mel moving up CC was a smart move. That could be helping a little here. But you have to ask why they did not keep their original plan on 3/17. Could also be they wanted to tie into this new rally to try to mitigate downside perception on the miss. Otherwise this report looks pretty damn good!

It's always gota be something with this stock. How about just a clear-cut, life is great, upside done deal for once!!!

    Hughes

I have XM so I'm good to go on MLB......but I have DishNet so don't get MLB TV package.....sucks! Dish is good.....but they are so cheap. Really glad Mel didn't let that happen.

I feel really conflicted now that Mel stuck it to Dish and got in bed with DirecTV instead. I guess I need to kick Dish to the curb now too so I have my MLB all the way around. Maybe we'll even get some kind of DirecTV/SXM combo deal in the future?

yeah guys what's not to like. Except they missed their estimates. It's just going to depend on how much emphasis is put on that (mainly by MSM). First reports all said Miss, Miss. I'd love to see SP head higher...
