A Websites success is based on the hits it receives. When you copy and paste the entire article, you are taking their hits they earned through good content. Its just bad form to do that. Charles knows no one is stealing anyones work. He just wants to play nice with the web community, and hes right to do so.

    1. I was not talking to you in specific. I was talking to the entire thread. You were clearly not the only one and I edited quite a few.

I am surprised no one understood why I was saying it. People really thought I was worried that people would think the poster was the author? WOW

I understand why you would want a link only but I like it when it copied under the link, some of the idiots on yahoo have been posting links to "siri articles" that are actually links to a virus, so if I dont have to click to read I think its better, but its your site and I will play by your rules in the future

"Please stop posting the entire articles guys. A comment and a link to the article is fine. Its just bad etiquette to wholesale reproduce someone eases content."

Personally, I agree in part with Charles. I think it is much better to post a link to the article and perhaps a short snippet of the most intersting part(or at a BARE MINIMUM the title of the article if that is interesting enough), and then your comments.

I do understand about posting the whole thing though. When I am reading the forums on my iPhone, I don't like links because following them becomes a pain in the ass. On my home comp, it is no problem though.

I know what I said... it is bad etiquette. That doesn't mean that I think people will think that the poster is the author. It means its bad etiquette toe re-post someones content. In fact, it could be a violation of their copyright.

Hey Trip - I remember when TV was free to watch - you just had to put up with the commercials. Now we get to watch the "increased" number of commercials AND we get to pay to see them vis-a-vis cable or satellite!!

It just keeps getting better!! It is likely only time before Sirius adds "some" commercials to all of its stations ..... yes? no?

Would it be acceptable to post the first line or two with a link, as a teaser, which would encourage the reader to click on the link? That would benefit all, I would think.

Cool Posting a citation to a news report

In the Academic World, it is OK to cite a quotion from another body of work, so long as you properly give them credit for their work ( a citation).

I think a news headline or a few lines of small news release is ok, but yes, its bad to copy an entire page.

Thanks for the info on the upgrade of Sirius.

    Cool Reply to RickF

    RickF,

Yes, Commercials on Satellite Radio music stations would suck, & it makes no sense. i dont think they will ever go there.

We get alot of content choice for our money (hence the balance sheet problem).

keeping my shares, as I build my holdings while its still a penny stock.

wont stay in this price range much longer. too many milestone events this year . I also believe a reverse split is imminent , later on this year -after refinancing occurs and after Liberty converts to common shares.

Make no mistake, Liberty has teamed with us for a reason. Spoken or Unspoken, there is a reason.
