"I will not be seeking a third-party run. I will not be involved in a Presidential run," 76-year-old Joe Manchin announced today. The race will be between 81-year-old Joe Biden and 77-year-old Donald Trump.

In today's South Carolina Presidential primary, Trump defeated former Governor Nikki Haley by more than 153,000 votes but she is refusing to quit the race. She believes she, not Trump, can defeat Joe Biden in November. Retrumplicans don't really care about defeating Biden. They care only about Trump and nobody else. The Cult of Donald Trump is alive and well in 2024.

If neither Biden, Trump nor Kennedy reaches 270 electoral votes, the House of Representatives can disregard the popular vote and award the Presidency to a losing candidate. Yep, just like in the Electoral College.

What if no candidate wins 270 electoral votes?

This story falls under the "Big deal!" category. Haley's chance of winning the 2024 Retrumplican Presidential nomination remains at zero.

The Supreme Court believes in state's rights – except when those rights involve Donald Trump. Today's unanimous decision applies to all 50 states.

Supreme Court rules states can't kick Trump off the ballot
The decision swiftly ended the legal fight over whether states can bar Trump from their ballots based on the Constitution's 14th Amendment.

Nobody can stop the Trump train from barreling full speed ahead. Nobody can even slow it down. Nikki Haley finally realizes that.

A more appropriate name for No Labels would be No Chance. No third-party Presidential candidate has won any electoral votes since 1968 when George Wallace won 46 by carrying Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. Richard Nixon won 301 and Hubert Humphrey won 191.

Female voters prefer Biden. Independent voters prefer Trump. Eight percent of voters don't want either man as President.

Letter from Sara R. Nichols of Los Angeles in today's Los Angeles Times:

"I could not disagree more with your editorial's argument that the U.S. Supreme Court was right to keep former President Trump on the ballot. One of the first things one learns in law school is that if the meaning of a law is clear on its face, then that is what you go with.

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which prohibits those who have violated their oath to the Constitution from holding office, could not be clearer, especially when seen in its historical context. Yet the cafeteria Constitutionalists on the U.S. Supreme Court took the appeal of the Colorado Supreme Court's decision and abrogated that clear meaning. The justices took it upon themselves to actually nullify the clear language of a provision of the Constitution. Forget the Constitutionally required amendment process – they don't care. They are the Supremes, assiduously working their way toward a zero approval rating, as they bring democracy down with them. What an embarrassing and heartbreaking time to be an American."

Donald Trump has never cared about the law, the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. If he is re-elected President, he will pardon all his blindly loyal supporters who have been imprisoned after believing his election-fraud, obeying his command to "march to the Capitol and fight like hell" and taking part in a deadly riot.
