Well you should read up on him because I think he is your kind of guy on tax policies. And besides
he is considered one of the most powerful men in Conservative and Republican politics today.

I was surprised that Israel was down at 43.
China down at 135. They are certainly doing quite well economically though i am
sure they will face problems down the road. Its a huge population with lots of moving
pieces and an authoritarian govt.
China is a communist nation. I know you you know, but it had to be said. They have no freedoms. There economy is doing well because of cheap labor.
If you click on the country, you will see their "report card" (scroll down). I know the HF is a right wing organization, but it is still a very interesting list.
I think they are doing well for a number of reasons from what i understand although cheap labor is certainly one of them.
They have limited freedoms would probably be more correct. The Govt cracks down on free speech whenever they feel the smallest bit threatened.
Denmark is NOT altogther happy according to this.

i quess it depends on the survey. But i know its been voted the best place to live on the planet a number of times in the recent past. I have been there and its quite nice.
I recall that at least one of the scandinavian countries have some sort of inferiority complex. Interesting is that Denmark is indeed highly rated in terms of economic freedom (as defined by the infamous Heritage Foundation), but some of the other scandinvian countries are lower.
Never been there, but a German friend kinda poked fun at them.
