    Tough choice huh.
Hey bigsandy, it is a tough call ... Still hungover with a case of the WCS (Woulda, coulda, shoulda ...) on SPNG. QASP on the other hand is pretty much a bargain down here IMO with the acquisitions right around the corner.

Romo is the sponge expert but my mere observation is that they have some staying power, beyond the fact that they are really just getting going. It still boggles my mind ... sponges? Of all things ...

It's funny, all my pennies ... Not a single one is currently profitable. I got in late on MGLG, BEHL, .... QASP ... Not too badly, avg. around .003 I believe. But now with EVFL they can't take me down! Bo wah HA! Not at 0.0001 - Sure SIRI is a 'penny' but ... it's out of these categories.

Yet, I expect to lose nothing, only patience is needed in all of them. I have been unable to flip anything and the closest to even right now is BEHL, think I am down 80 bucks at the moment.

You have already done pretty well already all things considered, think everyone here has. Sean and myself are the lagging indicators, but even Sean may have one foot out of the dark side now if I am not mistaken.

All things considered, the trying of my patience, the second guessing and constant reshuffling of strategy ... I absolutely love it! I am learning a ton from everyone, making mistakes - in timing, being sometimes to rash in judgment ... a bit too impulsive or too slow at other times.

What has helped all of this is that I did one thing right with some co. stock and still sit on a decent chunk - It took some time as well but for all practical points and considerations, it bought the wife a new car with a decent chunk of change leftover. By the time the year is out, I expect not only to be debt. free, but also driving a new vehicle myself hopefully and really that is at a minimum, with just some reasonable returns, anything silly that might happen, shoot even conservative estimations would be gravy.

    Early morning ramble ...

Edit; One more caveat - Part of my thinking is also lined with the chance that one of these takes off to some decent extent. In that case I would just allow the others to run and not feel that impulse to take them out too soon. Would be nice if one of them did here soon so I could feel justified in getting into the sponges ...

    Yours truly,
    Chatty Kathy

This is what I got from Scottrade.

    Dear Client:

    Thank you for your e-mail.

At this time Scottrade is not permitting new purchases of these securities within our accounts. We do regret any inconvenience this may cause for you. This trading restriction is due to the cost prohibitive clearing requirements of these particular companies' transfer agents.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Don Simon

    Tib,

Thanks for posting that. So, in essence, the transfer agents are charging excessive fees to conduct buying of their stocks (MGLG, EVFL and more) to make it worthwhile for Scottrade to deal with them, even with the added-on trade fees for stocks under a dollar.

I wonder how many other brokers have a restricted clearing list available. Does anybody have one available other than Scottrade that they could post here, so we can make some comparisons?

    Really good posts, Tib!

I was watching Hard Knocks (The NFL training camp series on HBO) this morning..and on their practice jerseys were little spongetech labels up on their left shoulder.

SPNG does get its name out there.

I can just see this some day....a big cult religion where the congregation is bowed down on the floor worshiping the "Big 50 foot tall Sponge" that spews soapy holy water and waxes all over them.

They need a sponge mascot to run around the sidelines during football games gushing out soap and water. Maybe more than one....Dora, Spongebob, etc.

You can really do a lot of keen and creative advertising with sponges and sponge characters.

You are 100% correct in your thinking! Patience is the key! That coming from someone who panics everytime Siri drops more than .02. I held/avg down siri from July 08...thru the BK scare at .05. Wanted to sell a million times but just couldnt force myself! Was scared Sh%tless! Once I got my emotions under control...and began thinking logically(debatable), I was able to begin to get an understanding of how this freaking game works!

Qasp- buy in .04 down 50% Buying more on Tue.
    BCLE- buy in .031 breakeven
    MGLG-buy in .001 down 60%
SPNG- buy in .135 up 34% Buying more on Tue.
SIRI- buy in avg(.51) up 21.5%
BEHL- sold at .005 loss buying back Tue.

All but MGLG I feel real confident in. I believe that the others will allow me to hold MGLG until it comes back to life...If it fails...I have enough profit currently in the others to easily offset MGLG lossess!

    BTW- down go the Sooners!

    Hey Jeff...loving your emails!

I cannot seem to find a reason so far to panic with MGLG. Yes, it dropped a penny on shit news...BFD! I think the odds are in your favor...One good PR and kiss it goodbye...out of the park! I say that even after I sold mine, but mine where free shares which is still a monetary instrument and not to be taken as anything other than cash. Take some time and something will make it break...just my humble opinion.. do your own DD.
