That might have been 4.5 million reasons why we're not going to see the forties again!

Liberty Media CEO: Sirius XM Can Only Go Up

    August 10, 2009

Back in February, Liberty Media Corp. lent Sirius XM Radio $530 million for a 40 percent share in the company. On Friday, Liberty Media's CEO Greg Maffei gave the satcaster a boost of confidence, saying the company has already hit its bottom and is on the way back up.

"You'd be hard-pressed to find a media company out there that is growing at the rate [Sirius] is growing," Maffei said on a Q2 conference call, reports The Wall Street Journal. "We're convinced [the company has hit bottom]," Maffei added. "The [second-quarter] results seem to demonstrate that."

Maffei also added that while bankruptcy was considered a possibility for the satcaster early this year, Sirius XM is in much better shape now. "We're talking now about how much this equity is worth," Maffei said. "I think this is a great business."

p.s. Tyler . . this is why I think the "multiple" comps that are being talked about by RBC are B.S.

sirius xm has no true peer group in media . . maybe you could look at subscription TV business as a comp but they are relatively mature by comparison and face a different competitive landscape . .

Where exactly does David Bank factor-in revenue growth in his E.V. model (rhetorical quest)

Thanks, Srk, great find! Especially the 'We're convinced the company
has hit bottom" part. Sounding pretty positive and upbeat.

They can't climb too far from 0.50. That is the target price. Eventhough analyst "upgrades" are worthless, in order for SIRI to steadly climb and don't give up gains, it needs an analyst "upgrade" and target revision.

Well looky here, 8 new jets at a cost of 600 MILLION for congress. So where is all the out rage now, at congress. Hey lloyd are you going to vote for these hypocrits.
