That's funny. I hope that you get the dollar. That is about right..figure 5 times the material cost is a good rule of thumb. That is pretty standard in most places for construction. As for remodeling, it is a very subjective thing. You just figure how much money that you want to make a day and multiply it by the number of days that it will take to do the job and then add a few more days just in case something doesn't go as planned and then add the material costs plus some more just in case and then throw it out and hope that it sticks.
