right now i have some tax free savings account (registered)

    should i make a non-registered account?

    Thanks lol

    Bill, et al--

Alright, my Friday maneuvering is complete. I feel like I'm entrenched in these stocks about as well as I am comfortable with:

    1. Sold off about 35% of my SIRI stock. I'm tired of watching paint dry. Made 25% profit, so I am not complaining.
    2. Took said money and increased some other holdings.
    3. Increased my BEHL shares about 40%.
    4. Increased my MGLG by 50%.
    5. Increased my BCLE by 40%.

    And, I'm set.

That will take at least 15 days to do, lol.

Just sell your SIRI at market price and get on with life.

    It feels good.

    Sean--
You really, really should call the customer service number for whatever brokerage you're using, and ask them for help. They know how to help you much better than we can, with regards to setting up your account.
Hang in there...you'll be in the fray with the rest of us very soon.

Yes probably, if its a tax free account, you will need to move it to another account or change it.

Don't ever trade on margin, unless you know exactly what you are doing. If you borrow money on margin, you have to pay out either a percentage or, interest on the amount you borrow.

    Welcome to Hell!!!

    sean,
I think i can only answer one of your questions. Im pretty sure the idea behind margin is, they let you trade on margin and put your money in a money market account while you trade. which is basically like a savings account, and you make a tiny amount of interest on that money. It is a good thing so dont worry about that.

You should just call them and let them explain OTC trading to you. After all, YOU are the customer and they will do everything they can to make sure you start trading and spending money with them. TD ameritrade was really cool with me even though i am a beginner.
