I can only speculate... one would have to imagine that if the music companies cracked down internet-wide, sure... people would probably pick a service and subscribe. If there were no more free, you would have to pay or pirate and most people don't have the know how to pirate.

We have covered the likes of HD radio pretty extensively if you look through some of the "competition" category. I think slacker happens to be doing really well with growth and marketing and they communicate very well with us in the direction they are moving... which is why we tend to cover them more closely. Personally, I am more worried about them then anyone else.

YES higher PERCENTAGE of revenue but on a nominal basis I don't see it??????? I would also bet Pandora actually plays MORE songs per hr then SIRIXM does (skipping feature & so many flippen people love their free music THEIVES) . Ofcourse I am only speculating. What idiot would PAY to advertise to A. people that only want FREE B. most NEVER see the add as they are listening on their IPHONE!!

P.S. Your audio adds are killing me
Royalty rates sre set higher for Internet radio. Even Sirius XM payes a higher rate when people stream on the net. It is one reason why they no longer offer it free with a subscription. Believe it or not, those internet listeners have been costing the company more money.

Ahh, thank you. Can we expect updates on all siriusxm competition in the future or just slacker on the sirius site?

    Relmor.....

Do I see some sarcasm here? LOL

Actually, HD is making some moves, but IMO not enough to differentiate itself from satellite. Tried Pandora. It is okay. I realy like Slacker, and liten to it quite a bit.

This sector has many competitors, and they will all vie for our ears. Better to know what is out there than to ignore it.

do you think that SXM can acheive 30M subscribers in the next 5 years...autos will return...DTV cross promos will happen...Iphone will add some subs...especially if Verizon gets its own Iphone from apple...I think that there is room for all of the current players to grow...Does SXM need to become more innovative...hell ya they do...but in the end...content is still king...SXM will become Positive Cash Flow by middle of 2010 at the latest!IMHO

It is how Sirius Buzz generates revenue. We also generate reveniue from sponsors such as TSS Radio, our sole sponsor.
Yes, I know. I guess that's my point. The advertisers are paying for these impressions all over the net. I'm saying I think it's a matter of time before companies realize they aren't getting the results from internet advertising they think they're getting. For example, on siriusbuzz, I do not look at any of the ads. How many people on this board are looking at the ads? I'd be curious to hear what others say. Perhaps this partially explains why Yahoo is having trouble. Maybe there's not enough biz coming from companies to advertise on the internet to support Google and Yahoo anymore, so the weaker one dies.

You also dont hear the ads in the music played in stores but it has been shown it improves sales. Believe me your eyes see the ads and are relaying that information to your brain, you just dont realize it.
