i see what your saying and i agree with most of it......however, all churches are not the same......a lot of the "fashion show" is to draw people into the church, make it interesting or appealing......in todays non-believers won't just go into a church, just to go.....but if they have cool events or concerts or a dj in worship service, they may be more interested in checking it out.......

they pass baskets around......no one knows how much you donate......they do have envelopes to put money in......for the sole purpose of giving you the ability to elect where the money goes, what fund, which mission....etc.....so i don't see how u can say the "church" shuns you for not donating enough......

What's it gonna take for Americans to open up their eyes to what's going on here in the States with our own government? For that matter, do folks have any clue in regards to the dangers which are beginning to culminate overseas? What's happening all around us is way beyond Dem vs Rep politics. It goes right to the core of why we are Americans. Did we NOT have some damn good reasons to leave England? And weren't the two main reasons heavily based on "Freedom" and "Taxation"? One of the gals I work with is married to an Air Force F-16 pilot. She is a German citizen, and the other day we were talking politics and she said, "to think I left Germany for this"...refering to our current march towards socialism.
The six party talks we had to deal w/ N. Korea got us no-where. The UN sanctions currently in place (the ones N. Korea just defied) have zero meaning to N. Korea. Short of going to war w/ them, what can be done? How about we talk behind closed doors with our allie's the Japanese. Get them to announce to the world that they are gonna go nuclear themselves...in order to defend their country. They do that, and I'll bet ya the Chi-Coms start to sing a new tune w/ N. Korea and DEMAND they stop seeking the bomb. China in no way wants their neighbors (Japan) to go nuclear. Instead we get EMPTY words from Obama after the N. Korean's launced their latest rocket just days ago. Not only did we get empty words from Obama, he's out apoligizing to the world for America's so-called arrogance towards the entire world.

Again, I'm not speaking of the chuch itself. The pastor or priest is not going to call you a cheap bastard, but the society of the church will. There is always someone that will talk, be it a secretary or deacon or what ever.

This is JUST how it has shaken out in my life.
About 16 years ago I began to tithe 10% of my total before tax income.
Within a couple of months my finances were fantastic and not by means of what I would consider within the realms of normal ie> job income. I now tithe more than I used to earn on a yearly basis. I am NOT bragging, I am only letting you know that I believe in this principal of tithing as it is written in the bible. I started tithing when I really thought I could not afford it but now I am a joyful giver and I totally believe I am where I am today because I have been blessed with that principal. My wife and I get our most joyful rewards when for example we stand behind somebody at a Wal-Mart or something and then we pay for their groceries and they have no idea why or who we are they simply are stunned and blessed. Again NOT bragging simply sharing what brings true joy into our lives.

Not only are they all chatting, they are planning to place a Russian base in Cuba, and are planning joint military exercises w/ Chavez. Iran is still a HUGE problem, and recent intel states they may have the bomb within a yr. Israel is HIGHLY considering taking out Irans nuclear-related facilities...on their own, w/ out US support.
It's been recently reported that Homeland and the State Dept, have intel stating that China and the Russians have been mapping the US Grid. The same grid which supplies electricity to all Americans. But don't worry, I'm sure the reasons for them doing so are for peaceful intentions.
To top all of this, we have Obama telling the G20 and the UN that we will allow them a ton of control over how US Corporations pay their people in charge. You heard right, the UN and the European Union having say over US corporations. If people aren't enraged over this idea, then they truly are clueless.

Yes. Revelations talks of this. Churches will be out of touch, and lost in this age. They play on sensationalism, emotions, and loud noises(churches with rock bands(avoid them)). This is not a church. A church is simply any assembling of two or more christians to worship God together. Period. They should have a community leader(who is removalble by the community, but a priest is not necessary). Priests were eliminated with the coming of Jesus. Why do churches still use priests? Control issue. Churches liked and profited on controlling the masses, and spoon feeding them customs and traditions that have nothing to do with god.
Forget where, but a line in the bible say, Beware the vain traditions and philosophies of man... etc... Basically all the ceremony of the catholic and orthodox church, the icons, madonna worship, are all abominations to God. He says repeatedly, no symbols, no symbols, no symbols. Symbols can be misinterpreted, and distorted. Perfect logic. Why he doesnt like them. Look what the Nazis did with the "cross". Etc... Nazis werent very christian. One small example of the misuse and reworking of a symbol. For instance, they symbol of the orthodox church is the same for Mitras. Talk about God having a problem with that. Another of my examples of trying to incorporate sun god worship and associate it with Jesus. Jesus does not have a halo around his head, lol..
Basically all the problems I hear from Isish, and tripps, and Demian are problems with religions churches, and acts from the church. As this is irrelevant to bible study, and the true word of god, maybe you dont have as much to go on if you address the bible only. ITs wisdom is perfect, and its message pure in the King James Bible.(textus receptus).
All these problems with the church, the bible is also clearly against. So, some of your "logic" and common sense are useful in seeing evils in churches. But a deeper understanding of Jewish history and how they arrived here today is needed.
