I saw sl62 post on this I dont think he is realizing the long term gain and short term gain is different long you pay less (capital gains tax) the other you pay income tax rate. Plus I think as long as it is a loss in the same capital you get to claim more then the 3,000. Then again I am not an accountant so that is something you should be asking him about.
    John,
Etrade gives you a choice on the confirmation page when you make your buy. Just select the tax lot selector link on the confirmation page and choose which lots you want to sell.

My forum name comes from a Thai word (pronounced as I have it spelled)
อดทน òt ton endure ; bear ; stand ; be patient ; put up with ; tolerate

    It ain't been easy :-)
Otone, where in Thailand are you? How long ya been there? You ever drink Chang, that stuff will give you a rough hangover!

I spent about 7 months all over thailand but mostly Koh-Phangan, Thailand is awesome, however I was there during the Tsunami, it got a little crazy!

GO SIRIUS, trying to keep it relevant lol

Killer... I hear ya.... need to run quite a bit further for me to do cart wheels yet but certainly is trading like a new day is upon us..... 'bout ****ing time..... (sorry Charles just had to type a good swear) Read your post about being out and getting sold out at just under .30.... sounds like it was your core position, but not to fear their will be pull backs just hard to say when.... mean time your sitting on some cash and that ain't bad in this market....

    Major T...

You picked a fine time to go for a space walk! Great day. 60M shares poured in @ about .28 and we skyed to .38 in about 10 minutes mid day. No real news except housing starts were good as were retail sales so the consumer had a decent report today. Otherwise, I just say wtih hurdles cleared, the word is out and SIRI is a buy buy buy...

The only thing I can find is that this was a total market move.

    nyse...up volume 72%
    amex...up volume = 96%
    nasdaq...up volume = 92%

It seems to coincide with the uptick rule reinstatement and comments made yesterday by certain politicians relating to abusive and illegal naked short selling.

Hopeful, I have SWORN off the Chang. Have a bunch of Brit friends that love to drink and they are off it as well. Just stick with Tiger, Singha, or Heineken now. Was up in Bangkok during Tsunami. Crazy.

    Cheers SL62 :-)

Now, if I can just keep from doing something stupid. Thanks everyone here for all the great input and analysis.
