    Employment Agreements
    Mel Karmazin
In November 2004, SIRIUS entered into a five-year agreement with Mel Karmazin to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Karmazin receives an annual salary of $1,250,000, and annual bonuses in an amount determined each year by the Compensation Committee of SIRIUS’ board of directors.

What are chances that Mel's agreement is not renewed in NOV 09?

Killer I thought you were, not many (without being in, dress right....... attennnnnnnnnnshun) know as many things about the Marine Corp as you do, Semper Fi is another good example. I just figured when I heard you say that to me you were in. That and I must have got you confused with another person (I think it must have been Mike) on the Barrons online blog, its been so long I cant remember. Boy am I getting old.

Like you I ended up with way more than my original investment and that I ever wanted to put in (almost 10x), but I kept averaging down as I refused to lose money on this stock. The good thing is that my patience and determination has finally paid off! Now with that being said, I am in with Cos1000's strategy to buy and sell on the dips, but only with less than half of my position. I don't think we're going to see a one day jump to where ever we end up and I want ot maximize my shares along the way. I may miss a .01-.02 jump along the way (with only part of my position) but I will not miss overall climb. Maybe it's the greed getting to me, but that's the way I see to maximize what I get out of this pig. It's the least we deserve after being thrown under the bus more than once by the company!!

FoolNHisMoney, after dicking around the last couple weeks "trading the dips", all I ended up doing was losing shares over what I would have had if I just stayed put. I just don't have the tools and time to trade it, so I'm left to analyze information from all sources including the smart guys here. So for now.. I'm firmly with Johns way of thinking. I spent the last few months trying to catch this falling knife, and it looks like I finally did with most of my digits intact. My opinion is that we are at around .40 by years end, so with that in mind, my short term goal is to get myself averaged down to at least that point. I obviously wished I had bought all I could at .06, but I at least got some shares there. I'll be buying on "the dips" and for me .20 is still in the dip zone.

otone, no doubt the strategy is not for everyone . . . probably not most people. In the end you have to use what works best for you, and I hope yours works out best for you. It's definitely not the best for those with averages significantly higher than the current SP range - the best chance there is to add more funds if you are able to (still nothing that you cannot afford to lose of course). But I feel that we've left some of the wild volitility behind for now and have the flexibility to play this strategy. I couldn't have done it without the help and knowledge that has been provided by everyone here, so definitely a big thanks to all! I'm still learning a lot (like learning to read Level 2 for example) and hope to continue to do so. And like I said, I'm only going to use half of my position for this and depending on how things work out I may change back to buy and hold. And while I've invested a great deal more than I originally intended - and I'd hate to lose any of it! - if I do lose it, it will not be the end of the world. I've lost much more in my other "safe" investments anyway!

    Stopping the stock rise

Just curious, I have very little knowledge of how these Liberty/Sirius deals are written. But out of curiousity Is it possible that it was somehow written into the deal that if the stock performs to a certain level within a certain amount of time Sirius would get a better interest rate? Just seems so strange that there appears to be outside forces keeping this Blue dog down as much as possible. I'm not a conspiracy theorist by nature but if I had borrowed that money at 15 percent I would have said "Okay 15 percent it is but if that 40 percent of stock we are giving you blows up off the charts within a month you guys gotta cut it down to 7 percent". I know Mel said that 15 percent was as good as a deal we could get enlight of the credit markets. Just seems crazy to cough up 40 percent of stock that has since tripled (If they took posession of it at .06 once again I don't know how this works) and chalk up 15 percent on top of it.

Also could "The Shelf" be motivation for this. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to start executing the trades for the shelf? If so wouldn't you wanna keep the dog down and then unleash it when your able to exercise your sale of stock?

I have no idea but would like to hear any opinions regarding this.

I have TD Ameritrade. Not sure what you've discovered so far. Go to trading tools and then click trading platforms...then launch command center 2.0...

You can customize it anyway you want. You will want to use quotescope and charts for sure. If you click on the little blue Q (looks like a nasdaq Q) at the top of a chart, it will give you access to a very nice trading tool. Its blank now but when the markets open it gives you instant recon on every move Charlie as well as us make! You can tell how many shares are being bid, whos doing the bidding and at what price...
