just sirius, For you I'll say it again. Dont count on it Mel has already said that they would be FCF even except for CAPEX. That means absolutly not. CAPEX is going to be huge due to the satellite they are planning on launching in the fall. I dont think Mel could under promise that much and over deliver on this one. I could be wrong, I just dont think so though.

John, as I am seeing things now via various FCC filings -- there may be 2 satellite launches this year.

Everyone.................. remember , the STREET is an emotional animal, easily capable of making or breaking the SHORTS. When and if............ the STREET figures out that there is no longer any fear to this stock, it will then remember what a marketable niche this monopoly owns......................... then the sky is the limit for the SP.............. IMHO. ......................just gut feeling and seatothepants flying----------- nothing more or less. .. NO FEAR............. LONG SIRI........ .. killer.

Homer, are you telling me XMSR just pushed their launch date up from 2010 to this year.

P.S. homer, if true does that sound like a company that is hurting for cash at this point in time.

John, I don't know. I just recall seeing a recent FCC filing from XM stating that they were launching XM-5 by the end of this year. And that it would serve as the "in-orbit" spare to XM-3, XM-4 and Sirius-5.

On second thought, it was an article... let me see if I can find it quickly.

    From Space.com, Monday, March 2
    http://www.space.com/businesstechnol...ocketswap.html

Karlsen said his company expects to launch three Sea Launch rockets and three Land Launch variants in 2009. The three Sea Launch payloads are the Sicral 1B military telecommunications satellite for the Italian government; the W7 telecommunications satellite for Eutelsat of Paris; and the XM-5 radio-broadcast satellite for Sirius XM Satellite Radio of the United States.

The three Land Launch campaigns scheduled for 2009 are the Telstar 11N satellite for Telesat Canada; the Intelsat IS 15 satellite for Intelsat Ltd. of Washington and Bermuda; and the Measat 3a spacecraft for Measat Satellite Systems of Malaysia. Karlsen said that there is no reason to think that the supply-chain issues that have slowed Sea Launch's activity will prevent these six launches from occurring as scheduled.

    Hmmmmm......2 sats!

That's interesting, and it also may explain where a bunch of money went. There is a lot of insurance and upfront money, commitments and lord knows what involved..I could not begin to guess.

The one launched in the east would have a different orbital path (They have options for some reason that are more difficult from the West. The ideal launch is from the equator. I wonder if they are going to Europe? Maybe......HMMMMM
