    yomann,
Satellite Broadband is pretty much already available in remote areas. So if you have that and a sub....you can already stream sirius.

asm610 would there be more broadband for streaming then?

If I understand correctly, the presy wants it to be free for everyone. Right?

I guess it would be smoother with more bandwidth availalbe(faster)

I think so.....but I don't see it happening for a VERY long time.

SIRI content will not be free. That was a move that was smart.....though I am sure people are writing ways to hack it for access as we speak.

Broadband is just another platform that Sirius can be heard on via the internet.... and charge for it. It is a means to faster Internet speeds. Cable providers and Verizon, (telephone not cell), hard line players are finding the fastest media possible to make Internet Content available in businesses and homes. Getting these networks everywhere makes the content obviously available to everyone. Because so much information, in all of its various forms, are accessed through Broadband Technology, the Administrations (OBAMA) goal is to leave "No Community Behind", to coin a phrase, in having access.

It will also allow better availability through Wifi systems. Wherever Broadband is "Hardlined In", in all of its various forms, VIOS (Fiber), Cable, Phone DSL & T1, Wireless equipment can make it portable.... This platform does require Sirius Xm to maintain its Premier Content, IMHO, if they are going to compete with the other Internet / Wifi content providers such as Slacker, Pandora, and a variety of Internet Radio providers, who are all trying to in some form or another, be compatible on wireless devices, cell phones, etc.

The key for Sirius XM is to be able to provide Live Content and Premium Programming to keep their edge. Also to make devices that can make all platforms available to it, Sat's, Wifi Broadband, Streaming phone, etc..... Look at their current Stilletto II to see their current attempt at this, It connects to Satellites, Wifi Internet, Record Stations for playback later. I don't own one so you'll have to ask others for their input on how it performs..... I want the one I buy eventually to be able to also make a phone call.....

Good to see relmor,cos1000,sl62,killer,mogami etc. again.
I was just reading an article from motley fool, saying the president himself is killing sirius by investing billions in broadband. Is that possible ? I am lost here.
Can anyone explain or comment ?
    Thanks

I would think we should open a new thread each day.

Haha, I came to post about the latest bash piece on SIRI, but no surprise everyone here has already talked about it.

"President Plans to Destroy Sirius XM"... these headlines are getting really blantatly ridiculous! Soon it'll just be something like "Sirius XM is dirty and has a fat mother".
