The fact that some people have multiple subs is not speculation. There is some number and investors should account for it. To think that there are none would be irresponsible from an investing point of view.

im not saying there are 0 people who have more than 1 subscription i just hate when he says every1 i know has multiple subs, the same way you hate it when i say every1 i know has 1 sub, k so we agree on that one. Im saying how many people have multiple subs compared to how many have just 1 sub is speculation. Cant deny that, you dont know that figure only sirius does and no matter how many poll's you do it isnt gonna matter.

It doesn't bother me at all that you don't know people with multiple subs. Of course there are going to be a ton of subscribers with one subscription.

I guess you are missing my point because I have never said that any specific figure is fact. I have said time and again that there is some number and that investors should consider that number. I also said that I would not be surprised if that number was over 25%... I made sure to make it clear that I was not sure what the number was but that I wouldn't be surprised if it was that high.

The thing you can't deny is that Sirius XM will not give up these numbers. Why do you think that is?

You are right Tripp, they are not obligated too! However I do believe their is some level of fear about the negative implications that would surround the company/stock if these numbers were released... With that said they will hold onto these numbers tight!

whatever as long as revenue > operating cost i could care less

what fear? who cares if they got 20 million all from idviduals or from family plans along with rental cars who cares how the fact is 20 million people have a radio and listen. maybe 20 million arent paying a full sub fee to listen but they have a radio either through a family plan or whatever!

soon to be 20 million actually.

    I agree with you Tripp,

All in all their are close to 20 million active radios with people listening to them. I just believe that the street would find some way just as they always do to spin this in a horrible negative way, Mel & Co. do not want to give them that opportunity! I am your side with this issue, and agree with your argument.

Now slightly off topic, all these life time subs that are signing up, how do they plan to generate future revenue from these subs. I see the lifetime option as a great deal for consumers but if they continue this trend it "could" be detrimental to future revenue! Or is it a plan to gain a huge subscription base and then find some alternate way to generate revenue from them???

Also how long has the lifetime option been available? Do they plan to keep this as a future promotion? What do you guys think the percentage is that choose the lifetime option?

I have contacted Sirius Canada, and they have offered it from the first sub and plan to continue to offer it. IMO it seems like a great way to get your feet off the ground but long term seems harmful for the business model.

    IMO~~~

    Charles

My only point of contention was that SXM went from 7-8 all the way to 12-14 or something like that. 7-8M is about 40% individual subs. 12-14M is 65-70% individual subs. Is the number 20-25% family subs only Sirius knows. Could easily be 30%.

For the record, I do not own a sub at this time, never have...contemplating buying XMP3 or Iphone if app approved. Several friends own subs. Most only have 1, one however has 3 or 4. so what does that mean...absolutely nothing.

This poll is worthless...cannot extrapolate anything meaningful from it.

    Hopeful

Lifetime sub promo I believe was just brought back a couple of month's ago...probably to generate cash flow....I agree..long term..hurts revenue...short term..saves companies ass! Also, believe it was only for existing subs..could be wrong!!

Sirius Canada offers it to anyone, and to be honest it seemed as if they were pushing it... That's kind of weird IMO
