Liberty, which controls DirecTV, the top US satellite TV provider, sees strategic opportunities with the struggling Sirius XM. Longer term, Mr Maffei indicated Sirius XM could play a bigger role in Mr Malone’s empire. Sirius XM could turn into a “focal point” in a division of Mr Malone’s company Liberty Capital.

The morning gap up has now been filled.......time to go up now.
SIRI retraced all the way back to .16 (yesterday's close) exactly and found support there.....so far anyway.

The truth is that SIRI was priced for bankruptcy and it is not going bankrupt...

I noticed this in the article. This escape clause possibly offers Mel some negotiating power - especially if the company can generate some cash in the short term, combined with an improving credit market...

Malone by no means has Sirius in his hip pocket. CEO Mel Karmazin is a tough infighter, who has put into the agreement measures that could allow him to end the deal with Malone later this year, though refinancing in the current environment could be tough.
i realize why the mm's are keeping it low but im still agravated by it, going to have to wait forver for this thing to gain, they dont want your average retail investor still in this stock when it starts to make its big moves.
hey demian do you think that 15 percent interest is so if mel and the gand decide to back out of the deal malone and liberty can still make out pretty well, as well as that 30 or 50 million dollar payment siri had to make to them for something or another. Im thinking if the deal goes through as planned the deal will be renegotiated interest and all. I mean if malone is really going to be able to own a majority stake in 3 years same time the debt matures then he's really going to be paying himself back since he will be the majority owner of siri. does this make sense?
I will buy 5k more shares either tomorrow or friday. Hopefully I can still get in under .20.
