    On July 2, 2015, Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz merged, becoming the Kraft Heinz Company. Now they are un-merging. One of the new companies will include brands such as Heinz, Philadelphia cream cheese and Kraft Mac & Cheese, The other will include slower-selling brands such as Maxwell House, Oscar Meyer, Lunchables and Capri Sun. The names of the two companies have not been announced. Shares of Kraft Heinz closed today at 26.93, a gain of 0.91 (3.5%).

    Ned Homfeld founded Charter One Airlines in 1983 in Detroit. The company added jet aircraft to its fleet in 1992 and became Spirit Airlines. Spirit filed for Chapter 11 bankrupcy protection on November 18, 2024 and again on August 29, 2025. Shares of parent company Spirit Aviation Holdings closed today at 0.42, a drop of 0.09 (17.65%).

    A plurality of voters in 2024 believed the U.S. economy would thrive under Donald Trump – a convicted felon. It didn't, it hasn't, and it won't. Following the July 31 2025 weak jobs report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Trump claimed the "numbers were rigged in order to make the Republicans, and me, look bad." He fired the BLS Commissioner. Today's BLS report shows unemployment is at 4.3%, the highest since October 2021.
