The U-238 Atomic Energy Lab, released in 1950 by the A.C. Gilbert Company, included radioactive uranium, a cloud chamber, a spinthariscope and an electroscope. Kids could create – and watch – nuclear reactions and chemical reactions. Wow! What fun! "Daddy, how did I get these blisters on my hand? And why is the cat glowing yellow?"

I am opposed to the killing of bears – especially when the bear is in a tree and has no chance to get away. Hunters sometimes will kill a bear and have it made into a bearskin rug. Turnabout is fair play. Bears should start killing hunters and making "man-skin" rugs out of them.

Another bizarre story from Florida. This pizza delivery woman stabbed a customer with a pocket knife. She was angry because she wasn't given enough dough for a tip. (Ouch!)

I fear that if this product is successful, we will eventually see Big Mac-flavored toothpaste, Bonus Jack-flavored toothpaste, Gordita Supreme-flavored toothpaste and Del Combo Burrito-flavored toothpaste.

Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been chosen as the new Pope. He will be Pope Leo XIV. Topps, the company that puts out baseball cards, football cards and basketball cards, just released a Pope Leo XIV trading card. It will be available only until May 11. I wonder how his batting average compares to that of Aaron Judge, Jacob Wilson and Paul Goldschmidt.

Abolfazl Mokhtari's first name means "father of virtue" in Persian. I wonder if he considers sticking objects to his body to be a virtue. I call it dumb and pointless.

This story is for anyone who has been wondering whatever happened to Granny from The Beverly Hillbillies:

Liusandedian, based in China, sells Etkin-branded car seat covers on Amazon – and gave the address of a San Jose woman as their return address. Hundreds of seat covers have been returned – but by giving a false address, Liusandedian avoids having to issue refunds because, hey, no seat covers have been returned to them!

This story reminds me of the 1990 episode of The Simpsons where Bart caught a three-eyed fish in the river near the Springfield Nuclear Plant.
