oil isnt evil, its just happens to actually pollute the air, if u dont think so take a trip to mexico city, i dont believe global warming is a reality, but i dont think a renewable and cheap source of energy that doesnt smog are skies is a bad idea either. I like the idea of battery and gas, like that 1 gm car that can run for 45 miles on battery before it has to switch to gas, and then can recharge the battery as you drive on the gas.

I would love to have a hybrid truck. And that car, the VOLT, is really cool. I don't have an addiction to oil.

I think global warming is a fairy tale.

I'm environmentally friendly, but I also like to strike a balance of reality.

I am for wind power, solar power and hot women, so see, I am not that bad.

I am not as invested as most of these people here, but I hate to lose when it comes to money. I'll take it like a man and a learning lesson if it ever came to that, but I don't think it will. You just can't erase a company like this.

A lot of these people, as you know probably better than I, really got stung for a lot of dollars. My heart really goes out to them.

    Peace........

Diesel burns cleaner now with turbos, plus you get better gas mileage with diesel.

Trust me, I own a 93 Chevy C3500 7.5L turbo diesel flat bed truck. It gets better mileage than my 90 Buick Le-sabre. And it weights 8 tons.

Unless we all want to go live like little house on the prairie, oil has to be a part of our lives. Drill Drill Drill!!!

Think about oil, plastic, rubber, and a lot of other things come out of crude. Just my 2 cents

The problem with Mexico is no regulation, and here they want to over regulate. And yes nobama did say he wanted to bankrupt the coal industry.

I respect your points of view Trippin, I just don't see any quick fix, and this global warning thing is considered a bigger threat to me than terrorism. The brainwashing factor and all that garbage.

im hoping people see reason, i dont think being green is a bad thing as long as you dont go crazy on the idea, going green is good being that the technology is actually a better product, ie: the volt, good idea that came about ultimately by the green revolution, then you got ethanol, which is worthless and cant compete. If you can develop a new way of powering cars thats cheaper and more enviromentally friendly thats a good thing, and that goes for most products, but as for wiping your ass with 2 squares of toilet paper, thats just crazy. Im hoping most of these green jobs are going to have to do with solar and wind energy, and hopefully that technology is improved upon. I may not buy into global warming, but im not naive enough to think we can just do whatever we want with no effect on the earth.

as for coal, its not near as good as nuclear, coal pollutes big time, i dont agree with penalizing countries that use coal and cant afford to build nuclear plants, but nuclear is safer if done right, not to mention cheaper and a much cleaner source of energy, thats why he wants to get rid of coal in favor of nuclear plants.

as for oil, no one is saying get rid of oil, were saying we need alternatives, and no one's trying to stop tires from being made of oil. When these alternative ways of powering cars come out, if they are more effective than gasoline then they will take over the market, if not gasoline will stay. It's not sure we can develop anything better, but we should at least try, invention is the american way.

I think the electric cars are the future to be honest, first will see things like the volt that can go 45 miles without gas, then it will get better might even get like 300-400 without gas, and the ability to have reserve batteries that the car can charge as it drive's so you can never run out of power.

    Good read, Tripp!!!

The great thing about diesel engines is, they can be converted to NG, the problem is the infrastructure to fuel NG vehicles, Utah has natural gas filling station all over their state. And it doesn't cost much to covert to NG.

I agree with diversification and alt energy, we have the technology to have clean coal plants, the prices need to come in line to build those clean coal plants. Right now, the people, or whom ever has the technology, is asking to high a price. GREED!! Go figure.

I believe nuclear power is also the way of the future, Hell I live in IL. Boy does it suck here, corruption and all, anyway as long as the NP plants have a good source of water to run the cooling towers its all good. There are only so many places to put NP because of a reliable source of H2O.

I know that fossil fuels pollute, heck, part of my studies on emissions back in school was the study of (NOX) Oxides of Nitrogen, that is the problem with fossil fuels.

It will take time, and wont happen overnight, but we will eventually have a good combination of alt energy sources.

I just get salty when I read about these people that come out and complain about the wind turbines, and how the the turbines are changing the air pressure and collapsing the lungs of bats.

You can't win with these people, and they do more harm than good.

I know your not one of those people Tripp, Peace!!!
