Donald Trump. Who Loves to Capitalize Words which should Not be Capitalized, obviously does not know the difference between indictments and lawsuits – and he continues to believe he is above the law and accountable to no one.

Trump calls on the Supreme Court to intervene in his criminal cases
    HuffPost, Aug 4, 2023 10:56 AM

Donald Trump today called on the Supreme Court, a third of which he appointed, to intervene in his criminal cases as his campaign’s finances remain under strain due to his mounting legal battles.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump implied that President Joe Biden along with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Attorney General Merrick Garland have brought "a barrage of weak lawsuits" against him, which require a huge amount of time and money to fight in court. "Resources that would have gone into Ads and Rallies will now have to be spent fighting these Radical Left Thugs in numerous courts throughout the Country,” he wrote.

Trump repeated his claim that the legal troubles he brought upon himself amount to "election interference" on the part of Biden’s allies. "The Supreme Court must intercede," he added.

If Trump ever writes his own Bible – and I wouldn't put it past him – it will include this verse: "'Vengeance is mine,' says Donald Trump. 'I will repay!'"

Trump's latest Truth Social threat raises red flags for legal experts
    Raw Story, Aug 4 2023

Donald Trump today said he was "coming after" those who have gone after him, prompting legal experts to suggest he might be breaking the rules set forth in the Washington DC criminal case in which he's charged with attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

Trump's threat was simple: "IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!" It caused an uproar among legal analysts and media alike. Andrew Feinberg, White House Correspondent for the Independent, said it sounds like the type of threat which would concern his judges. "This certainly sounds like a threat against prosecutors and/or witnesses," he wrote.

MSNBC showed a montage of the concession speeches made by all the losing presidential candidates from 1960 to 2016, interspersed with clips of Trump insisting he won in 2020, claiming there was widespread fraud and cheating and saying he will never concede. Quite a contrast!

Trump's sleazy lawyers claim his First Amendment rights are being violated. Nope, sorry. Trump was not indicted for his false claims of widespread voter fraud and a rigged and stolen election. He was indicted for his conspiracy to attempt to overturn the results of the election – and that is not protected by the First Amendment.

Trump continues to insist his phone call urging Ukraine's President to "dig up dirt" on Joe Biden was "perfect." Trump continues to insist his phone call urging Georgia's Secretary of State to overturn his loss in Georgia was "perfect." Trump continues to insist he did nothing wrong by asking his Vice President to reject Biden's electoral votes. Trump continues to insist he did nothing wrong by ordering his blindly loyal supporters to "march to the Capitol" and "fight like hell." But going to trial for his crimes? That's "election interference!"

Trump calls Jack Smith’s proposed January 2 trial date 'election interference'
The Messenger, Aug 10 2023 8:08 PM ET

Former President Donald Trump said the January 2, 2024 trial date proposed by Special Counsel Jack Smith in the case over his attempts to stay in power following the 2020 election amounts to "election interference." Trump said today in a Truth Social post, "Only an out of touch lunatic would ask for such a date, ONE DAY into the New Year, and maximum Election Interference with IOWA! Such a trial, which should never take place due to my First Amendment Rights and massive BIDEN CORRUPTION, should only happen, if at all, AFTER THE ELECTION," The Iowa caucuses, which kick off voting in the 2024 Republican Presidential race, are slated for January 15.

At a hearing today, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan stated, "Mr. Trump, like every American, has a First Amendment right to free speech, but that right is not absolute. In a criminal case such as this one, the defendant’s free speech is subject to the rules." Trump and his attorneys will not be allowed to make statements that could be construed as harassing or threatening witnesses: "The more a party makes inflammatory statements which could taint the jury pool, the greater the urgency will be that we proceed to trial quickly."

Trump blames Democrats for legal fees that cost ‘vast amounts of money’
The Hill, Aug 12 2023 4:27 PM ET

Former President Trump today blamed Democrats for the "vast amounts of money" his 2024 campaign is spending on legal fees. "The Lunatic Left, working closely with Crooked Joe Biden and his corrupt DOJ, is not only focusing on Election Interference but on getting the Trump Campaign to spend vast amounts of money on legal fees, thereby having less to spend on ads showing that Crooked Joe is the WORST PRESIDENT IN U.S. HISTORY!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

Donald Trump disregards the law. He disregards the Constitution. He disregarded the Presidential oath of office. Why would anyone expect him to obey a court order to not make inflammatory comments?

Trump indicted in Georgia 2020 election subversion probe
    CNN, Aug 14 2023 11:10 PM ET

An Atlanta-based grand jury today indicted former President Donald Trump on state charges stemming from his efforts to overturn his 2020 electoral defeat in Georgia. Prosecutors say Trump and others "joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome" of the election. The historic indictment is the fourth criminal case that Trump – who is currently leading the Republican field in the 2024 White House race – is now facing.

The charges, brought after a sweeping investigation led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, cover some of the most egregious efforts by the former President and his allies to subvert the 2020 election. Among the 18 other defendants charged in the 98-page, 41-count indictment are Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Trump lawyer John Eastman, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Trump campaign lawyer Sidney Powell.
