Today on Truth Social, Donald Trump – who continues to beliueve he is above the law – ranted, "All political prosecutions of your favorite president, me, must stop immediately. We are in the middle of an election, perhaps the most important election in the history of our country, and these radical left lunatic prosecutors and judges are not allowed to be doing this. This is election interference and must be immediately stopped. I should not have to go through any fake prosecutions before the election. This is communism and a threat to democracy."

As for being the "favorite president," well.......

The three main tactics in the Donald Trump playbook are "delay," "distract" and "divert." Trump continues to use these tactics because he knows they work and thereby he can remain above the law and above the Constitution, free to act with impunity.

If Trump successfully delays federal prosecutions past November's election and manages to win the White House back, he could order the DOJ to dismiss them.

Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, continues to issue rulings in Trump's favor – amid growing calls for her to recuse herself. Trump's trial for the mishandling of classified documents was scheduled to start May 20. Today she postponed it but did not set a new date. She will likely schedule it for after the November 5 Presidential election.

Trump, very predictably, called the criminal case a "hoax," a "witch hunt" and "election interference," denounced the trial as "rigged" and "disgraceful" and calls himself a "political prisoner." The Daily News notes, "For another candidate in another time, a criminal conviction might doom a Presidential run, but Trump’s political career has endured through two impeachments, allegations of sexual abuse, investigations into everything from potential ties to Russia to plotting to overturn an election, and personally salacious storylines including the emergence of a recording in which he boasted about grabbing women’s genitals."
