"Lock them up! Lock them up!"

Georgia prosecutors oppose plea deals for Trump, Meadows, Giuliani
The Guardian. Nov 28 2023 5:00 AM EST

Fulton County prosecutors do not intend to offer plea deals to Donald Trump and two high-level co-defendants – Trump's former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani – charged in connection with their efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia, according to two people familiar with the matter, preferring instead to force them to trial. Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis has opened plea talks or has left open the possibility of talks with the remaining 16 co-defendants in the hope that they ultimately decide to become cooperating witnesses against the former President.

For most of his life, Donald Trump has been above the law and above the Constitution, free to say and do whatever he wants with impunity. Slowly that is changing. He's been convicted of business fraud and sexual abuse and he has been charged with 91 crimes in four iundictments. Next month the District of Columbia Court of Appeals will consider whether Trump has "Presidential immunity" from being prosecuted for all the crimes he committed while in office, including spreading lies of election fraud, seeking to overturn Biden's election and inciting a deadly riot..

In a 2020 phone call, Donald Trump told two Michigan election officials they would look "terrible" if they signed documents certifying Joe Biden's victory. He urged them to not sign the documents. Ronna McDaniel told them, "We will get you attorneys." Trump confirmed, "We'll take care of that." The offer to provide attorneys can be considered a bribe, a crime for which Trump could be indicted. Meanwhile, the orange-skinned parrot continues to squawk, "Rigged! Stolen! Witch hunt! Rigged! Stolen! Witch hunt! Awwkkk!"

'I did nothing wrong': Trump snaps at reports of more election tampering
    Raw Story, Dec 24 2023 10:22 AM

Following a bombshell report that revealed there are audio recordings of Donald Trump and RNC head Ronna McDaniel urging Michigan election officials to not certify their state's 2020 Presidential election results, the former President took to his social media platform today to insist he was just doing his job: "I wasn’t campaigning, the Election was over. I was doing my duty as President to expose and further investigate a Rigged and Stolen Election. It was my obligation to do so, and the proof found is voluminous and irrefutable. Therefore I am entitled to IMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, I DID NOTHING WRONG. Stop the Witch Hunt NOW!"

Judge Aileen Cannon is not only a Trump nominee, she is a Trump loyalist and has made several decisions favorable to Trump. She.should recuse herself from the case involving Trump's mishandling of classified documents – but she won't.

Donald Trump has always believed he is above the law and above the Constitution and nothing matters except Donald Trump. Judge Aileen Cannon seems to share that view of Trump.

Today's ruling applies to a criminal case against Donald Trump. Tomorrow the Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments in a civil case regarding states' efforts to remove Trump from ballots by invoking the 14th Amendment's ban on insurrectionists holding office.

Appeals court rejects Trump's immunity claim in federal election interference case
    ABC News, Feb 6 2024 9:49 AM

A three-judge panel in the U.S. Court of Appeals has rejected former President Donald Trump's claim of presidential immunity as it pertains to his federal election interference case. "For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant," the judges wrote in their 57-page decision, saying Trump "lacked any lawful discretionary authority to defy federal criminal law and he is answerable in court for his conduct."

"Look, I am above the law, okay? Yes, I falsified business records to cover up hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal – who, by the way, I never met and I have no idea who they are – but they are my business records and I can falsify them if I want to, okay? I've done nothing wrong, okay?"

Trump debuts new legal theory: even if I'm guilty, 'there is no crime'
He made the comments as a New York judge gave the go-ahead for his hush-money trial to begin next month.

Donald Trump has never admitted to doing anything wrong and never will. His galaxy-sized ego does not allow him to see himself as less than perfect. He committed tax fraud and business fraud but, in his mind, the only "fraud" is the charges against him. Of course he will appeal today's ruling. The Trump Organization issued a statement calling the ruling "a gross miscarriage of justice." Wow.

In the past year, Donald Trump has spent more than $50 million on legal expenses. More than $40 million came from his Save America PAC. "Trump is out of money," former Trump White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci tweeted, and is hoping to "take over the RNC [Republican National Committee] treasury." Nikki Haley said yesterday, "I don't want the RNC to become his legal defense fund. I don't want the RNC to become his piggy bank for his personal court cases." Trump loves money almost as much as he loves himself. He will do everything he can to avoid using his own money to settle his debts.

Trump's legal debts top a half-billion dollars. Will he have to pay?

The Cult of Donald Trump is alive and well in 2024. If Trump, à la Jim Jones, ordered his blindly loyal supporters to commit suicide by drinking grape Flavor Aid laced with cyanide, they would do so.
