I expect the Retrumplicans will eventually persuade the Supreme Court – which is stacked with pro-Trump Justices – to declare all voting illegal. There will be no more elections and no more baseless accusations of "voter fraud." The Retrumplicans can simply appoint Donald Trump as Emperor for life.

Retrumplicans are doing everything they can to make voting much more difficult for minorities, Latinos, Asians, native Americans, Democrats, the handicapped and the elderly. Retrumplicans just lost a small battle – but, unfortunately, they're winning the war on voting rights.

Louisiana's Governor vetoed a new Congressional map drawn by Retrumplicans. Blacks make up almost 32% of the state's population but the Retrumplicans drew the map in such a way as to create only one majority-black district (and five districts dominated by white Retrumplicans). In other words, Retrumplicans attempted to rig all future elections in their favor. They failed but perhaps only temporarily. They are not giving up the battle.

Don't ask me why Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the state's new onerous voting restrictions would make it easier to vote. They wouldn't, they didn't and they won't.

Retrumplicans are doing all they can to rig and steal upcoming elections. Those darned ol' court justices keep getting in their way.

Ohio Supreme Court intensifies a redistricting map standoff
The New York Times, Mar 17 2022

A bipartisan majority of Ohio Supreme Court justices has ratcheted up an extraordinary legal standoff over the state’s political boundaries, rejecting – for the third time in two months – new maps of state legislative districts that heavily favor the Republican party. The decision appears likely to force the state to postpone its primary elections, scheduled to take place on May 3, until new maps of both state legislative seats and districts for the US House of Representatives pass Constitutional muster. The court’s ruling late Wednesday was a blunt rebuff of the Ohio Redistricting Commission, a Republican-dominated body that voters established in 2015 explicitly to make political maps fairer but now stands accused of trying to fatten already lopsided GOP majorities in the state’s legislature and the US House.

Retrumplican legislators who believe Donald Trump's Big L:ie of "widespread voter fraud" and a "rigged, stolen election" have come up with a new tactic. They want to have "election police" who can investigate all the voter fraud that is not happening.

Florida's racist, right-wing Governor wants the state's Congressional districts redrawn so as to eliminate two districts where blacks comprise a plurality. He wants to rig future elections in favor of Retrumplicans. The win-at-all-costs Retrumplicans have no shame.

House Retrumplicans in Georgia, a state narrowly won by Joe Biden in 2020, came up with a bill which, among other provisions, would allow the public to inspect paper ballots and would give the Georgia Bureau of Investigation the power to police elections. A state Senate ethics panel just threw out most of the provisions. As we've seen recently in Texas and Arizona, Retrumplicans are determined to make voting much more difficult for minorities, the elderly, the handicapped and native Americans and they do not give up easily. Georgia Retrumplicans can be expected to continue their war on voting rights.

Retrumplicans in several states insist their new voting restrictions are intended to improve "election integrity." In truth, the restrictions are intended to make voting much more difficult for minorities, the elderly and the handicapped. Retrumplicans are doing all they can to rig future elections in their favor.

Federal judge puts Florida on 10-year probation after ruling voting law disenfranchises Black voters
    Salon, Apr 1 2022

A federal judge has ruled that parts of Florida's new voting restrictions unconstitutionally disenfranchised Black voters and banned the state from making certain voting changes without approval from the court for the next decade. US District Judge Mark Walker ruled Thursday that portions of the law restricting the use of ballot drop-boxes, assistance for voters and third-party voter registration drives violated the Voting Rights Act and constitutional protections because they were passed "with the intent to discriminate against Black voters." Walker also ruled that the state must get court approval for the next 10 years before it enacts any other changes related to these rules.

Well, Georgia's Retrumplican legislators have passed a bill empowering the state's Bureau of Investigation to probe allegations of voter fraud – even though several audits and investigations showed there was no fraud in the 2020 election. But, hey, the Retrumplicans have to appease Donald Trump, who continues to insist there was "widespread voter fraud" and the election was "rigged" and "stolen."
