MC5 – MC stood for "Motor City" – formed in 1963 in Lincoln City, Michigan, and reached #82 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1969 with Kick Out The Jams. It was the title track of a live album recorded at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit. The album got to #30 on the Top LP's chart in May 1969.
