I did like it. It reminded me of something.

One of the most interesting things I've ever encountered professionally was a visit to Cirque de Soleil in Quebec. One can only imagine the need for custom fabrication required for their sets.

No not really. You couldn't imagine the incredible-ness of those gymnasts. I had the privledge of having an expresso with some of them, but most were "quarentined".

Funny one, Julie and The Hooters. Sounds like an act to be made.

I repeat myself about music perhaps. But classical, especially if you know why it was written, can be very stirring. Beautiful, sad. exciting, and evocative. The Pines Of Rome, The Symphony From The New World and countless others can move you to experience - yourself.

Nothing like it - if you are introspective and can handle it.

One more. The Moldau. It's a river in Europe. Flows through many countries and is slow, fast and turbulent in places.

This piece, like others mentioned, evokes the movement, the feeling, the essence of the subject. Beautiful.

Does the conductor really do anything? I would think that the musicians know their marks, but I'm not a musician.

Yes, you have to love the 80's hair!! The Hooters are most definitely a "regional band". They still perform even though it was done and over with by the 90's.

Thanks for not holding it against me, many do, especially here in Ann Arbor. I went to a "rival" university, and I'm not a democrate - 2 strikes already and I haven't been up to bat. My claim is that everyone comes from somewhere.................. Seems to bewilder most for some time.

You two are a bad influence. Bed time is 10 for me and here I am............. No wonder why my daughter asked, "daddy, are you sleeping?" at 4 this afternoon. I was; emphasize, "was" at the time.

I once made the mistake of asking a professional violinist that exact question. I used Dvorak's New World Symphony as an example. I had 'conducted' it many, many times. (surreptitiously)

She told me my movements were wrong, (I demonstrated) and that the musicians would not know what I was asking of them. I have ruminated over this for years, studied conducters and watched this particular piece being conducted by various individuals.

The conductor trains musicians as to his/her expectations. And obviously knows the rules, what ever they are. And knows the score intimately.

I would know nothing of this, so I am corrected - somewhat. But it would be fun to try.

This thread is addicting. Searching for songs leads me to another, and another....Can't end this now Atyp. Not gonna let a little thing like the end of the world stop us!

I'll board the plane if we're heading some place sunny, warm sand, gentle breeze, with palm trees swaying, and nonstop Margaritas That leaves Michigan out.
One good thing we won't have to pack much. Not a lot of time to wear different outfits

I think a nude beach sounds about right. And Margaritas. Moonlight, warm breezes and drinks.
