The reason Mayberry, N.C. was so peaceful and quiet was not because Andy and Barney were such good peacekeepers - it was because nobody was married - not Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober,Gomer, Sam, Earnest T. Bass, Helen, Thelma Lou, Clara, and of course not Opie ... ......all single.

The only married person was Otis, and he stayed drunk all the time!!! Just an observation.
