SiriusXM Updates iPhone and iPad App — Bugs Squashed?
For those of you who have been struggling with the recently released version 2.5, SiriusXM has an app update featuring “many bug fixes” and as an added bonus, support for the voice controlled Ford SYNC AppLink.
It has taken the company five frustrating weeks to release 2.6 but, after 24 hours of using the latest version, I am happy to report, I am no longer experiencing any crashing issues – although, I remain apprehensive.
If you have experienced the dreaded crash bug with previous versions I do recommend completely deleting the app and performing a fresh install of the latest version – rather than simply tapping “update.” This clean install method should be the first thing you try with any iOS app you might be having issues with.
Have all the bugs been worked out? Is everyone happy? If not, please share your story in the comment section below, I would hate to think anyone is still silently suffering a maddening fate.
As a stockholder, I certainly hope the bugs are fixed! Saying it’s important is an understatement.
However,as a 10 year subscriber, I really don’t care.
Why, I sold data systems for too many years. I got sick of playing technology leapfrog.
My great love about SirusXM is it’s omnipotent fm radio. I perform step 1—turn it on; step 2—-select the station I want.
If there is upgrading to do, SiriusXM does it—–not me.
This simplicity, and reliability get’s lost in the profile. Yet, there are many, just like me, who want the simplicity—-not the technology leapfrog.
This update actually has killed my app – The app crashes before getting to any sort of channel lineup or anything.
Have you tried deleting and reinstalling?
Actually, I’m talking about the android app, not iOS. However, yes, I did try reinstalling, and am still having the same issue. I tried it both with bluetooth on and off.
Ipad 1, Iphone 4. Updated both June 27 and both apps now refuse to open…crash when it tries to validate username/pw.
Removal and reinstall does not change that. I can login from a web page in windows fine, so its the app
Try deleting the app, then reboot the device, then reinstall the app.
BTW, this same thing happened to me a couple of nights ago because their stream was down for a couple of hours for maintenance — but it only lasted a couple of hours.
actually, Today the 28th both apear to be working perhaps trouble with their authentication process yesterday.
App won’t launch on my ipad 3. the screen says it is downloading content but NEVER launches. Tried re installing app but still no luck.
