SiriusBuzz Radio Announces Two Special Edition Shows – August 6th at 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM EST
SiriusBuzz Radio is coming at you live this Thursday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. That’s right, we are broadcasting live DURING the Sirius XM Q2 conference call. To make things even better, SiriusBuzz Radio features a live chat room where you can all interact with each other while the call is happening. SiriusBuzz Radio will also broadcast a second show at 4:00 PM that will detail all of the action of the day. Two shows in one day encompassing all of the information you need in one place.
Why be on the air at the same time as Mel and company? Simply stated so that you, the SiriusBuzz reader and listener can get instant reaction as the conference call happens. Investors can replay the Sirius XM conference call any time, but you only have minutes (or perhaps even seconds) to make your decisions about the news of the call. With a live chat room you can see a wide variety of opinion from your peers, while at the same time getting Tyler’s instant reaction to the news of the quarter.
The company typically releases their quarterly report about an hour before the call. Reaction to the published news will begin in pre-market, and because this special edition of SiriusBuzz Radio will also be happening pre-market, you have a chance to get perspective, analysis, and informed opinions prior to the opening bell.
This type of live show has never been attempted with satellite radio blogs before, but the value to Sirius XM investors is clear. Live show, instant analysis, and instant reaction in a live chat room. After the show, the discussion will continue in greater depth in the SiriusBuzz Forums INTRAWEEK THREAD 8-3-09.
The second show will detail all of the happenings of the day. What was the media reaction to the call? How did it impact the price of the stock? Is the media focusing on the right metrics? SiriusBuzz always gives readers a unique perspective that goes into greater detail than the mainstream. We help investors understand the metrics, and what they mean to the company. This is also your chance to vent about what happens in the mainstream media.
This special edition of SiriusBuzz Radio is certain to give you concise analysis and opinion that simply is not available anywhere else, or in any other format. Callers are welcomed to participate by dialing 347-945-7995, but due to the nature of the morning show, we will not take callers until after the conference call has concluded. The afternoon show will take callers throughout.
Join SiriusBuzz for Acurate In Depth Analysis, And Out Of This World Coverage that brings you the news in a format that you can act on and participate in.

Thats why i dont post from my blackberry! Great idea…If i can get off work(throat feeling kinda scratchy already)I will be listening!
Thanks for all of your efforts to keep us informed. As stated before, don’t always agree with you, but we appreciated everything that you do!
Great Idea!
Kinda like a Day-Nite Doubleheader . . can’t wait to disect the capex!
I’m hoping some type of annoucement on the potential use of the millions of idle radios. Even from a marketing stand point. Their has to be some value that can be extracted from them. I know I’m a broken record (CD) on this subject but if & when they announce it I think it will grab some positive attention let alone what it will do for the stock price.
to your point . . .

“so obviously we are aware that we have an awful lot of radios that are out there that have the radio in them, and there’s opportunities for our shareholders to monetize those in the future . . . we are aware that we always have the ability to light up some of these radios. We do it from time to time to try to recapture some of them as subscribers”
Tyler . . will you be inviting Moritz to come on the show and have a beer?
Could be a good “teachable moment”
Neal:
You should keep pounding away at this point; all of these radios sitting idle in dashboards have incredible potential. The trick is finding a way to utilize them AND convince the vehicles owners that it is worth it. I personally know 4 people with sat radio who let the trial sub expire, and they show little interest in subscribing. This is where the art of selling comes in. Sirius/XM needs to put their thinking caps on and convince these people that they are missing out on a great service. Just 15 to 20 percent would add millions of subs.
Steve O, thanks for the support. I feel like I’m yelling at the wind when I get on my soap box about utilizing idle radios. Just today the Motley Fool had an article by Rick Munarriz about Sirius Xm’s new deal w/BMW which gives 3 months of free Sirius Xm premium. He said it’s a no brainer because other wise it would be just a dashboard paper wieght. But while we are on this same subject I think Sirius Xm needs to take it 1 step further. They need to have the dealer turn on the radios before the customer leaves the dealership. My daughters friend bought a used VW Passat last month and I asked her how she liked the Sat radio, which she replyed that she didn’t turn it on even though it was free. I asked her why and she told me she really did not know much about it and was not sure how to get it turned on. So we have a 2 fold problem here, 1 is she isn’t sure what Sat. Radio is about and 2 she is not motivated enough to have it turned on. So problem 2 could very well because of problem number 1.Need better marketing and one way is if your’e going to give 3 months of Sat Radio away w/ a used car TURN IT ON BEFORE IT LEAVES THE DEALERSHIP DAMN IT!!! My heads spinning because I don’t beleive some one does not think of these things at Sirius Xm. If you see 2 chocolate cakes in a bakery and they look from the outside the same and one is called FM cake and the other is called Sirius Xm cake, but the Sirius Xm cake has a fantastic filling but it is not advertized as such but it sells for more money would you buy the Sirius cake or the FM cake?
Neal:
I will take it one step further – they should have Sirius/XM playing in the showroom, the parking lot, the men’s and ladies room, etc. They have to take this product and make people aware of it; shove it down their throats if necessary. The smart people will realize how great satellite radio is, and the stupid people are so gullible and naive…. they will decide they want it also.
There is always the exception – my cousin for example. He is one of the most ignorant, lazy, dimwitted numskulls on this planet. He bought an 08′ Honda Accord about a year and a half ago. The car came with 3 months of free XM. Despite my pleading, this imbecile never turned it on, and did as he always does – kept listening to AM talk sports. ALL THE TIME! This braindead shithead claims that he really likes country music, so I informed him that there were several terrific country channels at his disposal. WITH NO FREAKING COMMERCIALS! I could not persuade this pathetic waste product to hit that goddamn XM button. He is such a lazy, piece of shit slacker – and so set in his moronic ways – that he wasted the entire 3 month trial period. He embodies every horrible trait that a human being can have, and I am ashamed that he has anything to do with the same gene pool that I decended from. My point is that some people are a lost cause, and there is no convincing them of sat radios virtues. My God, what a useless, despicable fool my douch bag cousin is. I can’t stand the son of a bitch.
