Not a SINGLE UNIFIED RECEIVER in ANY of the new hardware offerings.
This proves Sirius-XM management is truly brain damaged.
Dude…do you do anything but whine like a little freakin’ baby?
Boo Boo is a sad,angry little poodle…..
Bobo,
Please feel free to go pee on a spark plug.
These latest hardware announcements are pure bullshit.
The fact that Sirius-XM is offering more of the same and STILL not any new unified receivers shows clearly they don’t have a clue.
You should be asking yourself, why the merger if Sirius-XM management has no intention of ever actually merging the companies and product line?
Mel Karmazin is making it up as he goes and the junk that they debut as new hardware shows that Sirius-XM is filled with yes men that don’t have the courage to tell Mel he’s full of shit.
On the contrary, Mel has an excellent plan…for Mel and John Malone.
Doesn’t it seem as if Sirius XM is purposely attempting to ruin this company? If they can’t get enough subscribers at $12.95, what do you think will happen when they increase the price to $14.93?
They have already raised the prices for the multiple radio “discount” and done away with the free Internet listening. My favorite tactic is that now the companies are merged, I still have to pay full price for my Sirius and XM subscriptions because they don’t offer the multiple radio discount across the Sirius and XM brand names. I am failing to see where the merger helped the consumer. Besides turning off the service, how else could they discourage consumers from subscribing?
Now, why would a company want to purposely destroy itself this way? When Liberty Media was given 40% of the company for a 530 million dollar LOAN, (remember when the merger was valued at 13 billion dollars?) it was agreed that Liberty Media would not be able to own a majority stake in the company for three years. So why would Liberty Media want the stock price to increase when that will simply increase the cost for them to take control of the company? After Liberty Media owns a majority stake in the company, the company will be taken private and the share holders will be helpless to do anything to stop it. Better yet, if they can get the company to fail quicker, they could argue that taking the company private is it’s only hope and the share holders will have to agree to this for fear of losing every cent of their investment. However, the best scenario is that Mel bankrupts the company and Sirius XM is unable to repay the loan to Liberty Media and then Mel’s friend, John Malone, gets all off Sirius XM for FREE and the shareholders get nothing. It’s brilliant.
Now, after the company is taken private, this is when Sirius XM will initiate all of these great technologies that we have been hearing so much about. For instance, being able to broadcast free satellite radio and inserting advertisements into the stream, while the paying subscribers will not hear the commercials. We all know that Sirius XM has this technology because we have see the patents. For those of you that have not seen it, here is the link.
So why would Sirius XM be waiting to deploy this technology? Could you imagine the value this would bring to the company? Liberty Media and Mel Karmazin certainly can. But they don’t want the share holders to steal their profits away from them. If this technology were to be implemented before Liberty Media owns a majority stake, they may not be able to afford to purchase the additional 10.1% of the shares they will need to take control of the company.
What would a company that owned essentially 300 radio stations in every inch of every market in the continental United States (coming soon to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico) be worth? This is the reason we invested in Sirius XM, but I fear we have only paid for the development of this technology and will never see the financial benefits.
When I first wrote about Sirius three years ago I stated, “One thing is for sure…someone out there, somewhere, is scheming.” I just never imagined the scheme would be so sinister.
You and Krypto are no talent ass-clowns that won’t answer a very simple question.
Once again, for the benefit of you two mentally challenged sycophants, if you don’t like my posts, don’t read them.
But seriously, how long are you going to continue your tantrum?
I’m sure unified hardware is on the way boo boo. The goal of the hardware in this post is to allow subs with Ipod hardware to utilize them in their cars. It’s a dock. Ipod users are used to buying all sorts of docks to use their Ipods in various manners. It’s a step forward whether you understand it or not. Where’s that $.35 stock price you were predicting by the way? Or your response to Tyler on the forums putting some figures behind all your rants? When you start putting some hard facts and figures behind all your cry baby posts, someone “might” start taking you serious. Until then you are just a pimple on the prick of progress around here….nothing more.
Man that shut him up…. 🙂
Hey douchetard,
Keep sucking on Mel’s ballsack.
You’re obviously enjoying it.
Come on Boo Boo, I love your posts, please do not get so angry about this stuff, it is all in good fun! You need to come out of the closet (no pun intended) and expand on the history of your horrible experiences with Mel & CO. Did you get layed off during the merger? Lose money on the stock? If you are just a subscriber, you have emotional problems. Tell me why are you so convinced that everything is so wrong and so infuriating? What is your dog in the fight? What would you do differently?
Ah yes…..more super investor advice from everyone’s favorite troll boo boo! Well done boy….well done. 🙂
Did you take your ball and go home everytime you weren’t winning as a child? I bet you did…LOL! You’re actually starting to become very entertaining. Kind of like watching a car crash in slow motion.
p.s. douchetard? ballsack? We were actually waiting for those facts and figures you were going to put together to back your ultra keen investment knowledge with regards to SIRI. We’ve only been waiting for a couple weeks now…..
Great Job today Tyler,as usual, getting all the info and pics out there,Myself and others really appreciate it..
Bingo. Tyler’s on it as usual. It’s nice to have someone out there willing to spend their time and energy to really research what’s going on with this company and giving us the facts about where things are headed. This is the only real source for information on SiriusXM where you can get a truly unbiased opinion of where things stand with the company. I appreciate your efforts Tyler.
I may be missing something but what is the advantage of using an Iphone (or Ipod Touch) in a dock over having a dedicated radio in the car and the Iphone for everywhere else. The subscription stays in the car so It not like it is portable.
I have a Starmate 4 for the car and my iphone for everywhere else. It costs me the same $12.95 + $2.99 as the iphone in a dock would.
I have an S50 and was hoping that a Stiletto 3 would be coming out. Any news of a Stiletto type offering?
I love these machines because when you hear a song you press the Save button and it rips the song right there. You can create your own playlists. Much better than buying songs.
I’d like to know about a new portable similar to the Stiletto and XMP3. If we could get something with dual band and wifi that would be sweet!
I believe new devices need a wifi remote these days. I hook up to my computer in the basement, which is hooked up to my home audio system. I can control my itunes library in the basement from the bedroom upstairs. Last night my fiance was shocked. She looked at me and said, “you can control that all the way up here”.
These are the cool ideas that laugh in the face of conventional technology. People are not used to these conveniences. Many of them don’t understand the technology until they are presented with it, and then there is an awe factor.
The iTunes remote is awesome. Sirius XM needs an iPhone remote or proprietary remote for their home receivers. I hope they come up with one for the SR-H200 models of the future.
Yep, I’m sure Mel wouldn’t want to bring out his secret technology/have a high stock price when he only can own hundreds of millions of shares…….he wants the company private LOL
SO TRISTAN 28 PLEASE NOTE!!!
Since everyone has ignored your post and want to banter…
If what you say is true, then the “company” has unti Feb 2011
to be taken out –correct.?
If so, isnt that a bit long for a company to fester its boils?.
By Feb 2011, if this equipment to be released will be tech out dated and the company will be a whispher, not worthy of anything
regardless of private or not.
Please render a guess q 6 months based on your assertion- what the stock price will be until Feb 2011
If you dont answer, I will assume you are shooting from the hip.
Thank you
The company could be taken private at most any time using the different scenarios that I previously described. Although, there is a fourth possible scenario. By keeping the stock price so low, for so many years, the majority of the shareholders will be people who have purchased the stock for under one dollar. Most of the poor bastards (like me) who purchased this stock between 2004 and 2008 have sold for a 90% loss. (I’m still hanging on with an average price of $3.45.) So now, when Liberty Media offers to pay $1.50 per share to purchase the company, an overwhelming majority of the shareholders will vote an enthusiastic “Hell Yes.” (I realize a more than 100% premium is not realistic, but I am demonstrating what a great bargain it would be for Liberty Media, even at $1.50 per share.)
A reduced share price makes a company an easier takeover target. When the company gets bought out (or taken private) – at a dramatically lower price – the takeover artist (Liberty Media) gains a windfall from the former top executive’s actions (Mel) to surreptitiously reduce share price. This can represent 10s of billions of dollars (questionably) transferred from previous shareholders to the takeover artist. The former top executive is then rewarded with a golden handshake for presiding over the firesale that can sometimes be in the 100s of millions of dollars for one or two years of work. (This is nevertheless an excellent bargain for the takeover artist, who will tend to benefit from developing a reputation of being very generous to parting top executives). This is just one example of some of the principal-agent / perverse incentive issues involved with takeovers.
As for guessing at a share price, I am not a fortune teller. As I have explained, even if Liberty Media offers to pay more than twice the current share price, they are still stealing the company from the shareholders.
I just wanted to respond about the “if this equipment to be released will be tech out dated” comment.
So you seriously believe this hardware is on the cutting edge of technology? This hardware is junk…ugly junk. Do you really see someone clipping their iPhone into this flimsy piece of plastic that “mounts” to the cigarette lighter? And at $120, what a bargain. None of this hardware is cutting edge or even the least bit exciting. Look at what iPhone users are actually saying about it.
http://forums.macrumors.com/sh.....p?t=773044
This crap is just being manufactured to waste time and discourage subscribers.
The design of this thing seems absurd to me; half the cars – like mine – have their cigarette lighter in a spot that is totally inaccessible as far as connecting this “sky dock.”. Secondly, because of the shape – lots of weight supported by a stalk that looks like a flamingos leg – I can see this thing swaying back and forth like a drunken sailor exiting a whore house!
Another case of Sirius/XM not meeting anyones expectations.
once again….total silence from boo boo when asked for facts and figures. shocker.
