Leadership Conference Requests Time Extension
The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights has requested an extension of time on the proposed merger between Sirius and XM. In a formal FCC filing, the organization states that they feel that more time is needed for public comment, in particular on the subject of diversity of control in programming.
The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights states that they have both merger supporters as well as members that oppose the merger within their membership, and as an organization have not taken a position.
This filing represents the first official request for a time extension in the merger process.

Why didn’t they get their act together sooner?
I believe this organization is a front for the NAB. They should have had their comments ready during the time allowed. They were probably just waiting to put a kink in the merger for the benefit of the NAB.
Who designated them to represent my civil rights anyway.
