With all of the positive news, that would surprise me to be back in the low .40's again. If that happens, I don't think we'll stay there for long. The main market is getting ready for a possible pullback. When that happens, there will be some fresh money coming our way.

Time for the weekly Auto Report from my vantage point.

Just got home from work. I saw the Finance Manager from a nearby
Ford dealership, said they didn't have a 2009 on the lot! Plus as I
said previously, he again mentioned July was a record month in sales
and they have been in that location for over 25 years.
Also, (I am just full of news ) Ford production has scheduled every
Saturday, at least until the end of September.

    Just a FYI.

    Hope you're enjoying the weekend.
Here in my part of Michigan, it is POURING.

folks . . this is extremely valuable anecdotal data that is being posted here . . would be nice if the Power Lunch crew on CNBC would pick-up a phone once in a while and call a finance manager and do some of this kind of research themselves . .

nice report Julie; thank you . . please keep the reports coming

Who would have thought this would be the case 3 months ago. I'm a Finance Manager in the automotive industry (yea, I know . . . why?) and we are starting to see volumes pick up from the forecasts last month, not a huge amount, but a small increase. Any increase is a good sign after the last 6 months. My neighbor is working 7 days pumping out parts for Ford.

The rain is my fault, sorry. Was to be my son's birthday party outside today, moved it to tomorrow.

Why, thank you SRK, Who would have thought all my talking might
be extremely valuable. It might not be wise to encourage me like that.

    Enjoy your weekend.

    Hi (cough cough) MichGoBlue,

Ya, the atmosphere is changing, people seem to be relaxing with their
spending habits. Working at the bank, I of course am aware of people's
finance. Plus, they open up to me as far as their personal situations.
Sometimes I feel like a bartender. Many have increased their spending
because obviously their finances have improved.

For your son's birthday party they are saying 94 tomorrow. That will be nice,
all this mosture will then turn to steam.

I hope you have a wonderful party.

The dealer sells the cars and keeps his staff working.
The manufacturer calls back employees to make the cars for the dealer.
The parts supplier calls back employees to make parts for the manufacturer.
The Truckers have jobs delivering cars and parts.
All of the cars get better milage which is good for our economy and our health.
Older less safe vehicles are taken off of the road.
Sirrius picks up some new paying customers in a few months.
All these happy people get to go on vacation because they have work again.
While they're on vacation at the beach, they buy a candle from me.

It took billions of dollars in loans that WILL be paid back.
And 3 billion in grants to get the whole thing rolling.

Damn, I think this stimulus thing just might be working!

OH and by the way....GO BUCKEYES.... the old Ohio boy just had to throw that in there!
