From January 2025 to January 2029, Vance – an isolationist, conspiracy-theory-spreading anti-vaxxer who recently referred to women without children as "childless cat ladies" – will be Vice President of the United States. He is already favored to win the Presidency in 2028. California Governor Gavin Newsom, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro are likely to seek their party's nomination.

Political commentator Ben Shapiro – no relation to Josh – said "nobody is talking about Harris running in 2028." He predicts Kamala Harris will quit politics and return to private life.

At a January 2025 rally in Las Vegas, Trump bragged, "It will be the greatest honor of my life to serve not once but twice – or three or four times." In that same month, Tennessee Representative Andrew Ogles, a Retrumplican, proposed amending the Constitution to allow a President to serve three terms.
