Onyx Plus Radio Overheats

I like to fall asleep listening to the radio with an earplug. Recently, reception fails after a few hours with the earplug connection no longer being tight. The radio itself is extremely warm to the touch. I tried a new base and different type of 3.5 mm earplugs, but the only answer seems to be to shut off the radio and let it cool for an hour or so. Has anyone had this issue, and is there a radio alternative to the Onyx Plus that doesn't have this issue? Thanks.

I have an Onyx Plus and have never had any problems with it. I don't know if this will help but you could try lowering the brightness of the display screen.

Keep the display on low , i have had my radio since 2005 and she dont overheat. Or put a tiny muffin fan blowing into it if you are savvy.
