The civil trial for the cheater, fraudster, con man and tax evader who calls himself a "shrewd businessman" will begin October 2, 2023. (The New York Attorney General's office does not have the power to file criminal charges.) Donald Bender, Trump's former accountant and tax preparer, testified yesterday that for many years Trump reported losses of hundreds of millions of dollars in order to avoid paying federal income taxes. In 2017, the year Trump became President, he paid only $750 in tax. Trump also inflated the value of his assets in order to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars in loans at low interest rates.

"How dare they rule that I have to release the tax records that I promised to release!" Of course Trump's promise to release his taxes was a lie. "Boo hoo, the Supreme Court is picking on me!" And Trump is also upset that the Court never investigated the 2020 "election hoax." He still refuses to acknowledge he lost. Sad.

Donald Trump's first job was as a property manager for his father's real estate company. He's been earning money since 1968. Six years of his taxes have finally been released to a House committee. What about the other 48 years?

The Trump Organization – not Donald Trump personally – was accused of tax fraud. The investigation and jury trial that Trump denounced as a "scam" and a "witch hunt" have led to a conviction.

Very predictably, all 24 Democrats voted yes – and all 16 Retrumplicans voted no. Retrumplicans have sold their souls to Donald Trump and they continue to protect and defend him at all costs.

Mika Brzezinski, host of the syndicated Morning Joe radio program, commented yesterday on the 39-page summary of Donald Trump's taxes which, among other things, shows Trump managed to avoid the mandatory IRS audits for two years while President: "It proves that Hillary Clinton was right all along. Nancy Pelosi was right all along. Chuck Schumer was right all along. The Democrats were right all along. The New York Times was right all along. The Washington Post, too, was 100% correct all along. Donald Trump was not under audit. Donald Trump was lying. He was desperate to hide the truth from Americans." Brzezinski also pointed out that Trump was not the "shrewd businessman" he claimed to be: "He lost more money than any other American – at a time when he was writing The Art Of The Deal."

Today the House Ways & Means Committee released six years of the tax returns that Donald Trump fought for many years to keep secret. Trump responded, “The Democrats should have never done it. The Supreme Court should never have approved it. It’s going to lead to horrible things for so many people. The great USA divide will now grow far worse." Then he bragged that the tax returns show "how proudly successful" he has been. He ignored all his many failed businesses, the thousands of lawsuits against him and the recent conviction of The Trump Organization on multiple charges of criminal tax fraud and falsification of business records..

In 2016, Donald Trump insisted that only "the mob" invokes the Fifth Amendment. He asked, "If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?" On August 10, 2022, Trump pleaded the Fifth Amendment 440 times (according to NBC) during questioning at the New York attorney general's office. He answered only one question: "What is your name?" Perhaps during his October hearing, he will set a new record for pleading the Fifth.

Donald Trump ordered by judge to face New York fraud lawsuit
    Reuters, Jan 6 2023 3:37 PM PST

Justice Arthur Engoron of the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan said today Donald Trump must face a lawsuit by the state's attorney general accusing him of fraudulently overvaluing his namesake real estate company's assets and his own net worth. Attorney General Letitia James had sued Trump, his adult children Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka and the Trump Organization last September over an alleged scheme to inflate Trump's assets by billions of dollars through a decade of lies to banks and insurers, in what she called a "staggering" fraud.

James said Trump "engaged in years of extensive financial fraud to enrich himself and cheat the system" and must defend himself in court. She also wants to stop the Trumps from running businesses in New York and ban Trump and his company from acquiring real estate there for five years. An October 2 trial is scheduled.

Trump should be in prison with Weisselberg but no charges were filed against him. Once again, "Teflon Don" avoids accountability for a crime.
