Someday we may finally find out what Trump has been so desperate to keep hidden.

Judge rules against Trump, releases his taxes to Congress
    Salon, Dec 15 2021

A federal judge on Tuesday ruled that Donald Trump's tax filings can be released by the Treasury Department, striking a death blow against the former President's years-long crusade to keep them hidden from public scrutiny. The decision, handed down in a 45-page opinion by Judge Trevor McFadden of the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia, specifically gives the House Ways & Means Committee access to Trump's long-sought tax returns. The committee could then vote on whether to publicize the documents.

Bragg, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Harvard, has replaced Cyrus Vance Jr., who chose to not seek re-election after 12 years as Manhattan district attorney. The ongoing investigation into Donald Trump's finances has resulted in indictments of The Trump Organization and CFO Allen Weisselberg. Bragg will decide if Trump himself should be indicted. I vote "Yes."

Donald Trump and his two oldest children do not want Americans learning the truth about Trump's finances, just as they do not want Americans learning the truth about the deadly, Trump-inspired Capitol riot. Trump believes he is above the law – and, unfortunately, the Retrumplicans continue to do all they can to protect him and defend him and ensure he remains above the law.

The Trumps have indicated they will fight the subpoenas and are expected to file court papers through their lawyers seeking to have them thrown out.

Donald Trump's former attorney – one of many – confirms what we already know: Donald Trump cares about Donald Trump and no one else.

Will Trump try to protect his kids in business probes? 'Not a chance,' laughs Michael Cohen.
"Donald cares only about Donald, more than he would care about his children," says Cohen. And "Ivanka is interested only in Ivanka."

Three days ago, accounting firm Mazars USA dropped The Trump Organization as a client and said a decade of their financial statements "should no longer be relied upon." Donald Trump, the Liar In Chief, claimed to know nothing about the finances of his own organization. A day later, he had different lies to tell.

Trump said in court he had no 'knowledge' of his company's finances a day before he issued an 1,100-word statement defending his company's finances

In 1990, Donald Trump invoked the Fifth Amendment 97 times during a divorce deposition. If today's court ruling is upheld, Trump and his children will likely invoke the Fifth Amendment many hundreds of times. In 2016, Trump declared, "The mob takes the Fifth. If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” Yeah, Donald, exactly.

Since 2018, the Manhattan District Attorney has been investigating The Trump Organization for tax fraud, tax evasion and inflating the value of assets in order to obtain loans. Teflon Don seems to get away with everything: violating the law, violating the Constitution, violating the Presidential oath of office. Let's hope the D.A. continues to pursue this investigation and will be able to bring an indictment against Trump.

Letitia James says "no one is above the law." Well, Donald Trump has managed to be "above the law" for his entire life – and he is doing everything he can to ensure he remains above the law. Maybe some day his luck will finally run out.

Trump asks appeals court to delay his testimony in probe by New York's attorney general
    Business Insider, Feb 28 2022

Lawyers for Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. today formally asked to delay their court-ordered testimony before New York Attorney General Letitia James. The three Trumps had been ordered by a lower court to comply with James' subpoenas and testify before her investigators by March 10. Today's filing asks the state Supreme Court's Appellate Division to delay that testimony while they file a full appeal. The filing asks the appellate court to find that the Trumps are the targets of "impermissible selective prosecution" by James, who has used strong language in warning publicly that she is turning the full strength of her office on a probe of the former President's business.
