We know Donald Trump has always idolized Vladimir Putin. We know Putin wanted Trump to win the Presidential elections in 2016 and 2020. We know Trump ignored the unanimous conclusions of all the US intelligence agencies and took Putin's word that Russia did not meddle in our 2016 election. If the proposed Trump Tower Moscow had been built, Trump would have given the penthouse suite to Putin freee of charge, for life. Why has Trump fought so hard to keep us from seeing his tax returns? Perhaps he's been paying huge sums of money to Putin. Perhaps "blackmail payments" are tax-deductible. Robert Mueller told House impeachment lawyers in July 2019 that Russia has "blackmail leverage" over Trump. Bob Woodward's 2020 book Rage quotes Dan Coats, former Directior of National Intelligence, as saying "Russia had something on Trump." Reports that the Kremlin has a tape of Trump watching prostitutes urinate on the bed in his suite at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Moscow have never been discredited..

Don't forget, Donald Trump bragged that he surrounds himself with "the best people." Of course when you eliminate the "best people" who have been arrested or indicted or imprisoned or are under investigation, there aren't many left.

Trump often brags that he's a "shrewd businessman." In the Trump dictionary, "shrewd" is a synonym for crooked, corrupt and unethical. Trump has not yet been indicted for tax fraud – but the noose is tightening.

Indicted Trump Organization ex-CFO Weisselberg expects more indictments, his lawyer says
    CNN, Sep 20 2021 1:35 PM ET

Allen Weisselberg , the former Trump Organization CFO who has been charged by Manhattan prosecutors for an alleged tax evasion scheme, is expecting that more indictments will be filed in the case after tax documents were found in an alleged co-conspirator's basement, Weisselberg's lawyer Bryan Skarlatos said today at a pre-trial hearing in New York State Supreme Court.

Weisselberg faces 15 state counts, including grand larceny, which were unveiled by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance in July. The grand jury indictment alleged a 15-year tax evasion scheme in which Weisselberg received from the Trump Organization an array of luxury perks – including an Upper West Side apartment, a pair of Mercedes-Benz cars for him and his wife and private school tuition for two family members – in lieu of compensation. The former President's namesake business was also charged in the indictment but Donald Trump himself has not been charged.

Donald Trump was lying when he promised to release his taxes but dedicated journalists have been able to learn some of the details – and Trump is not happy.

Trump sues New York Times and his niece over tax report, alleging 'insidious plot'
    Yahoo News, Sep 22 2021 12:30 AM

Former President Trump has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the New York Times and his niece Mary Trump over the news outlet's 2018 reporting on his tax records. The suit, filed in New York's Dutchess County, alleges NYT journalists "engaged in an insidious plot to obtain confidential and highly sensitive records" and that they "convinced" Mary Trump to "smuggle records out of her attorney's office and turn them over to The Times." Journalists Susanne Craig, David Barstow and Russell Buettner, who are named in the suit, won a Pulitzer Prize in 2019 for their reporting on Trump's finances that debunked his claims of self-made wealth and revealed allegations of a business empire riddled with tax dodges.

Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg has been indicted on 15 counts of tax fraud and tax evasion and the Trump Organization is under investigation for inflating the value of assets in order to obtain loans and insurance and lowering the value of assets in order to pay lower taxes. The Trump Organization is crooked, corrupt and dishonest – and the crookedness, corruption and dishonesty starts at the top. When will Trump be indicted?

For the first time in 25 years, Donald Trump – who calls himself a "shrewd businessman" – is not on Forbes' annual list of the 400 wealthiest Americans. Here is part of the reason:

New report says Trump hid more than $70 million in losses at key hotel
Former President Donald Trump racked up more than $70 million in losses over a four-year period from his Washington DC hotel while publicly claiming that the hotel was making more than tens of millions of dollars, according to documents released by the House Oversight Committee.

"Lock him up! Lock him up!" If Donald Trump winds up getting indicted – and convicted – of tax fraud, maybe he can get an orange prison uniform that matches his skin color.

New grand jury seated as Trump criminal probe continues
The Manhattan district attorney’s office is weighing whether to seek more indictments in a case that has already resulted in tax fraud charges against the Trump Organization and its longtime CFO Allen Weisselberg.

"Are you here to loan me money? Okay, this property is worth $25,000,000. If you.....what's that? Oh, you're from the IRS and you're here to collect taxes? I'm sorry, I misspoke. This property is worth only a few hundred thousand dollars." When Trump called himself a "shrewd businessman," that was just his polite way of saying he's a fraud, a cheat, a con man and a tax evader.

New York prosecutors are investigating whether the Trump Organization broke the law by offering dramatically different valuations of the same properties
The company valued several properties up to 30 times more for potential lenders than for tax officials. The differences in evaluations may amount to tax, bank or insurance fraud.
