Until he draws his last breath of life, The Big Liar will continue to spread The Big Lie. After many decades of calling certain people "losers," delusional Donald will never admit he lost the 2020 Presidential election. Never. And many of his blindly loyal supporters – who unquestioningly believe The Big Lie – could be conspiring to commit more violence akin to the January 6 Capitol insurrection. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Judge says Trump's 'steady drumbeat' of the Big Lie could continue to inspire his supporters to take up arms
    CNN, May 27 2021 12:07 AM ET

A federal judge on Wednesday wrote that Donald Trump's "Big Lie" that the 2020 election was stolen from him could still inspire some of the former President's supporters to take up arms, as they did in January during the deadly US Capitol insurrection. The judge's blunt assessment of the current, charged political climate came in a legal decision about a defendant who was drawn to Washington DC in January. And it adds to a growing chorus of warnings from the officials most closely weighing the aftermath of the Capitol riot about what the threat level still might be.

"The steady drumbeat that inspired defendant to take up arms has not faded away; six months later, the canard that the election was stolen is being repeated daily on major news outlets and from the corridors of power in state and federal government, not to mention in the near-daily fulminations of the former President," Judge Amy Berman Jackson of the DC District Court wrote in an opinion to keep defendant Cleveland Meredith Jr. in jail because he could endanger the public if released. Meredith allegedly had texted that he wanted to shoot House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, on live TV and had hauled a trailer of guns and ammo to Washington in January. He has pleaded not guilty.

Mitch McConnell, who worships Trump almost as much as Trump worships himself, is a blindly loyal member of the Retrumplican party, the party of lies. He does not want Americans learning the truth about Trump. Loyalty to Trump is of supreme importance. Loyalty to the United States of America, to the Constitution, to our democracy and to the rule of law are not important. Not at all.

As expected, Senate Retrumplicans – whose loyalty is to Donald Trump and him alone – blocked the bill to create an independent bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 Trump-incited deadly insurrection at the Capitol. Six Republicans joined Democrats in voting for the bill but 60 votes were necessary. The vote was 54 to 35. (Nine Retrumplicans and two Democrats did not vote.) White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said today, “Members of the Senate aren’t sent to Washington to rubber-stamp any party’s views. They swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution and today unfortunately they failed to do that." Four months out of office and Donald Trump continues to rule the Retrumplican party with an iron grip.

Senate Retrumplicans, whose loyalty is to Donald Trump and to him only, rejected a bill that would have established an independent bipartisan committee to investigate the deadly, Trump-incited January 6 insurrection at the Capitol. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats may form their own investigative committee – which Retrumplicans will immediately denounce as "partisan." Watch and see.

Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick was savagely assaulted during the riot. He suffered two strokes and died the following day. Sandra Garza, Sicknick's girlfriend, told CNN's Jake Tapper that the Republicans are "all talk and no action. Clearly, they're not backing the blue. It's just unbelievable to me that they could do nothing about this." Retrumplicans defend and protect Donald Trump at all costs. Nothing else matters to them. Voters will remember this in 2022 and 2024.

Retrumplicans say they want to "move past" the January 6 Trump-incited Capitol riot. Of course they do. They have to defend and protect Donald Trump at all costs – and they don't want voters in 2022 and 2024 focusing on the insurrection. Retrumplicans plan to spend the next two years attacking President Biden and all his programs and policies which they (wrongfully) insist are turning the United States into a socialist nation.

Donald Trump incited a deadly insurrection at the Capitol, then spent two hours watching it on television before his advisors finally convinced him to speak to the rioters. In a video, he said, "We love you. You're very special. You've seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home and go home in peace." GOP Senator Ben Sasse told radio host Hugh Hewitt that Trump "wanted chaos on television" and was "confused about why other people on his team weren’t as excited as he was." Retrumplicans do not want Americans learning the details. They have to defend and protect Trump at all costs. Democrats are not giving up.

Facebook will "determine an action that is clear and proportionate." Facebook should have taken "action" seven months ago. They should have immediately removed every post that said Donald Trump won the 2020 Presidential election, every post that said the election was "stolen" and every post that said there was "widespread voter fraud." The spread of disinformation on social media helped contribute to the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Biden allies urge Facebook to review spread of election fraud claims
    Politico, Jun 2 2021 8:38 AM EDT

A nonprofit advocacy group with close ties to President Joe Biden today joined calls for Facebook to review whether its actions contributed to the spread of unfounded election fraud claims leading up to the January 6 siege on the Capitol. Building Back Together, an outside coalition formed by top Biden allies and campaign advisers, urged Facebook in a letter to commit to an internal probe of the matter, something the company's oversight board recommended last month.

The panel, which recently upheld Facebook’s decision to suspend former President Donald Trump, also called on the company to carry out “a comprehensive review of Facebook’s potential contribution to the narrative of electoral fraud and the exacerbated tensions that culminated in the violence in the United States on January 6.”

Plea deals are a subversion of justice. Hodgkins was indicted on five federal charges – and four of them have been thrown out.

On January 7, one day after the deadly Trump-incited insurrection at the Capitol, Facebook suspended Donald Trump's account. The ban will now last for at least two years. As for Facebook conducting an internal probe of its role in contributing to the riot by allowing the posting of conspiracy theories and false election fraud narratives – a probe recommended by Facebook's oversight panel and the Building Back Together coalition – Facebook said no. How shameful.

"Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass," Brooks told a gathering of blindly loyal Trump supporters shortly before the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol. Ain't it amazing how Retrumplicans consider inciting a riot to be "protected speech"?

Mo Brooks served with lawsuit related to his role in Capitol insurrection
    CNN, Jun 6 2021 8:38 PM ET

Alabama GOP Representative Mo Brooks has been served with a lawsuit filed by California Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell seeking to hold him partially accountable for the January 6 insurrection, according to a tweet from Brooks and an attorney for Swalwell. In the suit, Swalwell alleges former President Donald Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr., former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and Brooks broke Washington DC laws, including an anti-terrorism act, by inciting the riot and that they aided and abetted violent rioters and inflicted emotional distress on members of Congress. The former President, his son and Giuliani acknowledged receiving the lawsuit and argue their words on January 6 didn't cause the siege and are protected.
